Shopping is for two male lovers expecting a child

"It would be fun to watch their reaction from a safe distance," Ryland scanned the people passing by for any members of his clan, liking the idea more and more.

Mike ran back to the store, glad he had found it quickly. He checked his watch - he had been gone for 15 minutes at the most.

Ryland pulled out a newspaper and started to read it. "Bad news, my favorite."

Mike took a deep breath, straightened his shirt and walked inside. "Sorry for the delay."

Ryland smirked and looked over his shoulder at Mike, checking his watch. "You better be glad I'm nice, Carden."

Wren raised her eyebrows as she spotted Mike. "What's our next move, my lord?" she asked, glancing between Ryland and Mike somewhat eagerly.

Ryland frowned at the storefront, "He's inside now. I guess we wait until he comes out."

Wren nodded and sat back to wait again, her eyes closed but senses sharpened, blocking out all human interference, waiting for William to come out into direct view.

"It's fine," William smiled back at Mike. He handed the guitarist his credit card. "I payed with mine," he mumbled before standing up from his seated position on a chair and held open the door for Mike as they walked out.

Mike walked out first, grabbing one of William's bags. He smiled. "What did the women say?"

"I couldn't get them to say anything. I just kept smiling at them and they kept the horrified looks on they're faces," he frowned. "I wanted to scare them a little if they said something though," he smirked. As he walked out of the door, he froze. He stopped moving and the look on his face showed fear.

Wren's eyes snapped open as she felt an avian-like presence step out of the shop. She frowned as she saw Mike, not believing she had read his signal correctly. She shrugged it off as she saw William follow Mike, and glanced to Ryland.
"My lord?" she asked cautiously, not sure if he'd seen them.

"Bill? What's wrong?" Mike grasped William's hand. What now?

William's eyes widened as he stared at the bench, mentally cursing himself for not running the first second he saw Ryland sitting there. He opened his mouth and tried to talk, but no words were able to come out as he stared at the two on the bench.

Wren decided not to smirk and simply returned William's gaze firmly, her eyes burning into his soul, despite the humans walking through their line of eye-contact.

Mike saw Ryland on the bench. He pulled William closer and glared at both the man and the female vampire that was with him. "You have exactly thirty seconds to prove that this is only a coincidence."

William gulped and kept his gaze on the two vampires in front of him. He put a hand on Mike's forearm and held it, fearing that he'd be forced to leave the guitarist. He was scared. He could feel the girl's gaze burn right through him.

Wren sighed and stood up, walking over to them slowly and calmly. "My apologies." she told them, letting kindness slip into her tone as if by accident. "It won't happen again. However, I sensed an avian presence here...I assume you won't accuse me of lying, Mr Carden?" she turned a slightly cool gaze onto Mike, silently daring him to do just that.

"Not yet Avian, I'm afraid," Mike told the woman. "Your conclusion is a tad prematured." He kissed William's cheek - it was a habit he had when he knew things were about to get rough.

William was relieved when the woman looked away from him. He tightened his grasp on Mike's forearm and bit his bottom lip. He stared on at Ryland again before looking over at Mike.

Wren's eyebrows rose a little in amusement. "Actually I believe it was closer to Mikey Russell." she replied calmly. "Though I thank you for the tip-off." she glanced to William and nodded, smirking again. "Good to see you again, William. You probably don't remember me."

Mike clenched his teeth. Well fuck. Something else they can use against me.

William looked back over at the woman. He silently shook his head, moving his hand down to mike's and squeezing it slightly, trying to calm the guitarist down.

Wren held out a hand calmly, half expecting William to react like it held a knife or for Mike to glare at her like it was an offending insult. "Wren Erickson." she told them, gazing at William again. She knew it would do her no favours, but she did so enjoy baiting the boy.

"Quite lovely to meet you," Mike muttered, frowning. "Now get the fuck out of our way." He looked at William. "Let's go, okay?" He dragged him on his side and started walking.
