William still looked scared. He wiped away the tears from his eyes and kept a hand on his stomach, not sure what to believe. His breath was shaky. Closing his eyes momentarily, he tried to picture what could happen. Suddenly he lost his balance, using an arm to hold him up against the wall. Some pictures flashed through his mind. They were very light and faded. He could see himself; his stomach bigger than normal, almost around the size that it was now. He was wearing a hospital gown and was laying down, covered in sweat. He could hear his own screams and see the blood around himself. And then he saw Matt, along with another vampire coming along with a syringe. He fell to his knees.

"William?" Mike asked, panicked again. I can't help him. I just can't. He wrapped his arms around the boy, not caring if he was pushed away anymore. "Bill, tell me you're okay."

William's eyes fluttered open, his arms around his stomach protectively. He leaned into Mike, his face hiding int he man's shoulder. He began crying again, not sure whether to be happy or not.

"William, baby, please," Mike said desperately, holding his boyfriend. "Look, I...I can't take it back, not now, but...I'm sorry, okay? William, don't be mad at me..." He hated himself for giving in.

William shook his head, still crying. "It's not that," he managed to choke out, still holding onto himself as the picture became more vivid and clear as it played out in his mind over and over.

His hands on William's shoulders, Mike pushed the boy back to have a better look at him. "Then what is it? Tell me."

William backed into the corner, still cradling his stomach. He was still crying. "I-I-I was trying to picture what would happen if I was sent to a hospital, and I remembered something else," he sobbed.

Mike sat next to William, and placed his arm behind the boy's neck to pet his hair. "What did you remember?" He glanced at his boyfriend's stomach. "Was it...?"

William continued sobbing, the horrific images increasing their reality in his mind. He petted the top of his stomach. "I-I could see myself. I was in a hospital gown. I looked like I was in pain. And then this other vampire came along and made me lay down. I h-had restraints on my arms and my legs were placed higher than the rest of my body. Then I could see that I w-was pregnant, about the size that I am now. The vampire pulled up the hospital gown and I had several marks and scars on my stomach that looked like they were from shots. It was blank for a few minutes until the picture came back. T-then I could hear my own screaming. I was covered in sweat and blood. Ryland was in the corner of the room watching. And then I saw Matt. And then it went away," he whispered,hsi body still shaking as more sobs followed.

Mike moved William away from the wall to rub his back. "I'd never let something like that happen to you again, William. Trust me, the last thing I want is to cause you pain." He was disgusted by his boyfriend's memories. "Hospitals aren't like that." He vaguely thought about his mother and swallowed with difficulty. "They're not supposed to be like that."

William cried silently, Mike starting to calm him down. He was still shaking, staring down at his stomach. He shook his head suddenly. "I-I-I can't...," he tried speaking but had to stop.

Mike embraced him in a hug. "What is it? What can't you do?"

William swallowed, his face still drowning in tears. "I-I can't go back to another hospital. I don't want that to happen again," he trembled, one arm still wrapped safely around his stomach.

"You're the one in control, William. If you keep harming yourself it's the only solution we have left." Mike wasn't willing to give up after all his efforts. William's life mattered too much.

He'd leave me alone in a hospital with three children to take care of... William nodded his head in defeat, too afraid to say otherwise. He felt trapped.

William had a sorrowful, hurt look in his eyes as he nodded his head very weakly, staring at the ground. He felt dead inside for some reason.

Mike couldn't understand why it was so hard for William to part from his habits. Still, it was an enormous relief. "Thank you," he whispered, kissing both of the boy's tear-stained cheeks and the bridge of his nose. "I was so worried."

William wiped away the stray tears, frowning as he looked off into the distance at the floor. He didn't plan the days before their wedding to be like this.

"Why the frown, William? Can you...explain, for once? You should know by now that I suck at guessing." Mike frowned as well, but he was calm.

William forced a fake smile. "I just never imagined the day before our wedding being like this," he whispered, laughing quietly as tears began streaming down his cheeks again.

Mike looked away nervously, blushing with shame. He couldn't deny that William had a point. Yet, he was certain it wasn't entirely his own fault. "See that as a free trial of someone who could be your husband. Feel free to return him if you're not satisfied."

William sighed and frowned, moving over to put his head on Mike's chest. "But you're the only one who will put up with my fat ass and mood swings," he murmured, pouting slightly.

"I was hoping for a but you're the only one I love, but y'know...I'm not complaining. Still better than a categorical 'no', I suppose." His eyes widened slightly. "It wasn't a 'no' for the wedding, right...?"

William kept his head on Mike's chest, his eyes closed. He nodded his head. "It's still on, even if you've given me doubts," he whispered the last part mostly to himself. "But I have some stuff I have to get done today." He rose to his knees slowly, and then to his feet, the process taking about a minute and a few sighs.
