Live Every Second

"Wow," Butcher watched in stunned silence. It worked.

Butcher bit the lip Mikey had just run his tongue over and smiled a little tiredly, "No problem." He reached out to cup one of Mikey's cheeks in his hand, gently brushing tears away with his thumb.

"Cheaper than an incubator and I don't know if you can even get them in bigger sizes than chicken egg," Butcher smiled contentedly.

Butcher wrapped his arms around Mikey, smiling a little more confidently. Mikey loved him back and they were going to raise a baby together. Everything was happening so fast.

"Relax," Butcher ran his fingers carefully through Mikey's hair. "I'm fine with this. Better than fine."

"It's okay," Butcher pushed aside thoughts about what else might be sensitive and kissed the other avian on top of his head.

"I'll protect this egg with my life," Butcher paused. "That's not exactly what I meant to say, but I'll be careful. I promised I'd stay with you."

"You won't lose us." Butcher caught Mikey's hand and kissed the tip of the finger Mikey used to poke him, cackling happily.

"I know," Butcher stretched his mouth in a wide grin. "Have you seen the way I dress?"

"Thank you," Butcher thought about nuzzling his nose into Mikey's hair but didn't want it to get caught on his piercing somehow. He decided to run his fingers though it again instead since he completely forgot about Mikey's previous reaction to the same movement. I'd look terrible with my hair that long.

"Sorry," Butcher apologized sheepishly. "I forgot."

"I like it," Butcher put his face near Mikey's hair cautiously so he could smell it.

Butcher smiled and kissed Mikey on the forehead, his hand absently twitched on the other man's scalp.
