Mikey wrinkled his nose, giving Butcher a tentative smile. He wanted to curl up close to him, to kiss him until both their lips were swollen, but something in him held him back.

Butcher moved a hand up Mikey's back and stopped, his fingers itching to tangle themselves in the avian's long hair again. "Love is weird."

"I don't know what he'll say," Butcher said honestly. "I don't think he cares about me like that. We're just friends." Like the one before him. We ended up just friends too, probably not even that.
