Mikey wrinkled his nose and laughed uneasily. He felt the back of his neck prickle and tried to ignore it.

"You had something on your face. I was trying to memorize it and yeah..." He gave up on trying to make it wound normal and started staring at Mikey's lips.

"R-right." Mikey muttered. Ok, he's not a scientist, Mikey. He's not going to do anything like that, alright? "...Not a scientist." He mumbled.

"Not a scientist?" Butcher looked back up into Mikey's eyes.

"Mikey?" Butcher brought his face closer to the other man's. "Something wrong? I was just wondering if I could draw you." Or fantacize later...

Mikey sighed and brought his knees up to rest his forehead on. "When I was younger I lived in a laboratory." He muttered. "The scientists would just sit there and watch me. It kinda creeped me out. And... well, it reminded me of that. But... not..." His shoulders dropped.

"I didn't mean to stare too hard," Butcher leaned closer, forgetting he already moved closer, and accidently bumped his nose against Mikey's cheek.

Mikey jumped. "S'alright." He murmured, turning his head to look at the older avian.

"Sorry," Butcher blushed. "Not very smooth of me."

Mikey raised an eyebrow. "You've seen what I'm like. I ran to get the door and fell down the stairs." He winced. "I think Carden guessed what happened."

"You didn't almost impale anyone's eye with your nose... that I've seen," Butcher chuckled. "What did Mike guess?"

"I'm not sure, but I know he heard me falling..." Mikey sighed. "Now he knows I'm an idiot."

Butcher nodded and said "I promised," but it came out as a whisper.

Mikey smiled shyly, turning his head to look at Butcher. They were barely an inch apart.

Butcher breathed in slowly and leaned foreward slightly, eyes questioning as he pressed his lips to Mikey's... and missed pressing them full on. He sighed inwardly when he felt the corner of Mikey's mouth touching his lips.

"Clumsy." Mikey whispered, laughing. He moved his head slightly to the angle Butcher needed.

"I'll try again then," Butcher smiled and pressed his lips to Mikey's the right way this time. And you're not feeding me.

Mikey didn't think he would ever do this again. He was glad he was. His hand gently found Butcher's hip, stroking it.

Butcher stiffened then relaxed, smiling against Mikey's lips and enjoying the feel of them.

Butcher shifted his body slightly to make it easier. He identified Mikey's unique smell for the first time and filed it away to think about later.

It was Mikey that broke the kiss, breathing heavily as he leant his forehead on Butcher's.
