A promise for everything you never found...

Butcher sat up and stared at his wings. "Am I really that sickly? Wait... What about the moon?"

Mikey's shoulders dropped. "We can't fight during a new moon. I guess we get our strength from the moon, something like that. Now, come on!"

"I didn't know that," Butcher moved towards the french doors, thinking Mikey might want to go out of them instead of walking through the house.

"No, I want to go to the library and the alchemy room." Mikey moved to the door. "I intend to pay a visit on Carden's toy."

"Okay," Butcher turned to follow Mikey. "What?"

Mikey raised an eyebrow. "I may now have some new power that I don't fully know about yet, but as far as I can tell, I'm still not a mind reader!"

"Sorry. I meant to ask why we're going there. Is there something you want to find out about?" He was sure there were plenty of things he wanted to know but wasn't sure if Mikey was confused too.

Mikey bit his lip. "William's pregnant." He said in a soft voice. "I... I have books about vampire pregnancies, and potions Nick made. They.. they might help."

"William's pregnant," Butcher repeated. "Male vampires can get pregnant too? Will I ever cease to be amazed?"

Mikey laughed. "I doubt it. I've been Avian since I was nine, and I still get amazed by our world."

"Sounds interesting," Butcher linked an arm though Mikey's and towed him gently to the door in the direction of the library. "Let's go!"

"You know the way." Mikey said, stepping in and finding the book he needed. "I'm impressed!"

"I should know where the rooms are since I live here now," Butcher shrugged off the praise, smiling happily.

"You do." Mikey turned a delighted smile on him. "Now, lead me where we're going next!"

"Right. The alchemy room," Butcher went over the hallways he knew so far in his head and linked his arm though Mikey's again to lead him that way.

"Excellent." Mikey patted his head and grabbed the potions he needed. "Lifesavers." He said to Butcher. "I wonder how baby vampires feed..."

"I didn't think about that," Butcher's mouth dropped slightly opened.

"You don't think about a lot of things." Mikey pointed out. "But everything has to feed. It could be like Avians, I guess."

"I'm not having a baby. I don't have to think about it," Butcher pouted jokingly.

"It's a bonus if you're still after that human." Mikey smiled as they walked out the door. "Does he like kids?"

"Does he like me is a better question," Butcher looked at Mikey. Do I still like him is an even better one.

"How could anyone fall out of love with you?" Mikey asked simply, letting the wind take him into the air.

"I don't know if he was in love with me in the first place," Butcher followed shakily. "Where to first?"

"We'll feed first." Mikey said calmly, soaring away.

"Okay," Butcher followed, wondering if he had made Mikey angry somehow.
