Mikey crashlanded on the steps of the sanctuary, lying in a whimpering heap on the floor. "Nick, please!" He sobbed. "Help me!"

Butcher dropped Mike carefully to the ground and rushed over to Mikey. "Mikey? Mikey can you hear me?"

Even though Mike had no affinity for the man, he kneeled down next to Mikey. "I'm really sorry," he said, unsure what exactly was supposed to be his fault.

Mikey clutched at his stomach, giving little whimpering screams. He staggered upright again and through the door.

Butcher followed with a look over his shoulder at Mike. I hope this doesn't take long. William's not supposed to be alone. Ryland probably knows he is too.

Mike tried to follow them as calmy as he could. "How long is this gonna take? Butcher?"

Mikey padded down the hall, leading them to a room that Butcher hadn't been in before. He left a little trail of blood behind him.

Butcher watched the trail of blood as he walked like he was following it instead of Mikey. "I don't know. Sorry Mike. We should have grabbed William too."

"M'yeah." Mike bit his lip, knowing it was too late to go back. He had been afraid they'd try to hurt him, but he had obviously been wrong.

Mikey threw open the cupboard door and ransacked it, moving bottles carefully. He grabbed one and drank it, finishing it. "Nick was a... an alchemist." He told Butcher.

"Oh," Butcher said quietly. He took to poking Mike's neck to test out the healed skin. "Hmm."

Mike glared at Butcher suspiciously. "What do you think you're doing...?"

Mikey paused to let the potion take effect, then swung himself onto a table. "Sit there." He ordered Mike.

"Nothing. I just wanted to see the self-healing thing for myself," Butcher grinned.

Mike frowned and obeyed, hoping it wouldn't last long, nor hurt. "Okay..."

Mikey strapped Mike's arm up to a machine and tapped in a few access codes. He stared blankly at the screen. "Right..."

Butcher shrugged to Mike and watched everything intently, no idea what was going on.

Mike, being clueless, started to get angry. "Can you at least tell me what you're doing?"

Mikey stepped back and tugged off his shirt. "You managed to do this to me." He said quietly, gesturing to the still weeping scars.

"It's a serum in your blood, Mikey thinks," Butcher looked at the other man to make sure.

"O...kay? And what am I supposed to do about it?" He stared at Mikey's wounds.

"That's why I'm trying to look at the serum now." Mikey snapped. "God, you may be protector of the city, but I didn't think you were this stupid."

"Don't worry, Mike. I'm sure William's gonna be fine. There are people around. Nothing bad can happen to him right?" Butcher fidgeted.

Mike nodded to Butcher, still only giving a puzzled look to Mikey. "Dude, you're the leader and you bit me but ended up poisoning yourself. That's pretty lame."

Mikey gave him a look. "I'm only the leader because I'm the oldest. I wasn't bargaining on getting poisoned." He jabbed a syringe into Mike's hand without warning.
