The sun is shining and my best friend is pregnant.

"Ryland broke in?" He started at William in shock. He couldn't have known Brad was there. He was probably aiming at William again. Bastard. Mike had to wipe his tears if he wanted the boy to believe him, so he did. "This has nothing to do with you. If anyone is to blame, it's me, and I can accept the consequences of what I did. Besides," he added, "there's not much we can do about it now."

"I-I know," he stuttered. "But if I had ended it when I wanted to, then I wouldn't be here, and you'd have less stress." He shook his head in disbelief. "I can't do anything right. I should have ended it all that night. But I couldn't find a way how. I tried everything..." he said, tears still rolling down his face. He stared at the ground, blaming himself for Brad being bitten. "And now I've brought so much more for you to worry about..."

"If you had ended it that night, I couldn't have been with you, and we wouldn't have been expecting a child. Aren't you grateful for that, if only a little?" He raised William's chin with his fingers. "I am. It's not gonna be easy but it's worth everything, to me at least."

William nodded and looked into Mike's eyes. "I-I am. I'm just afraid. This is the most important thing in my life. I love you, and I want to have this baby with you. I'm just afraid. I'm really worried about you," William said as he ran a hand through Mike's hair.

"I'm afraid too," Mike said, because he was tired of pretending. "But if we look on the bright side, I've stretched my lifespan again." He tried to smile.

William tried to smile, but only managed a small, sad one before losing it and pulling Mike into his arms. "You don't know how much I need you," he whispered as he trembled.

"And I'll be there. I protected you today and I'll keep doing it as long as you'll want me too." As he held William, Mike started wondering if Mikey and Nick had had something similar. Now that he knew how it felt, he understood how badly he must have hurt the man, and wished he could take it back. Revenge wasn't worth it.

William hugged Mike a little tighter. "And I'm going to do the same for you. I don't know what I would have done without you. I love you," he whispered again. He'd never meant anything more in his life.

"I love you too, Bill. And our baby is gonna get the most love a child can receive from its parents." He rubbed the boy's shoulders and forearms.

Speaking of baby, William thought as he felt a pain in his stomach. It wasn't too terribly strong, but it caused him to nod with a half smile and a tinge of pain. He put one hand to it and hissed a little.

"Hey, is it okay?" Mike surprised himself by using it instead of you. He brought a hand to William's stomach.

William inhaled a few sharp breaths. "I hope so. It just hurts," he said, biting his bottom lip again. He rubbed the lower half of his stomach softly, wondering what was wrong.

"Hurt, like...? A lot or a little?" His question was stupid, since he could see William didn't feel good at all. "Take deep breaths. Do you want to go inside? Can you move?"

William hissed again, his face starting to contort in pain. "I-I can move. The question is, can you?" He bit into his lip harder this time, wanting the pain to stop.

"Yeah, wait - hold on to my arm." He placed himself behind William and wrapped his other arm around him, his hand still on the boy's stomach. He walked slowly, heading inside. "Is that okay...?"

"Y-Yeah," William said before groaning. The pain was increasing. What's wrong? He hissed and held onto Mike's arm, squeezing slightly, not wanting to hurt the guitarist. "Oww...," he was able to mumble before he gasped for air. That pang had knocked the breath out of him.

Mike doubted they'd make it to the living room. He closed the door with his feet and brought William down on the floor with him. "Try to lie down...?" he suggested. "See, that's why guys aren't supposed to have babies!"

William carefully lowered himself down to the ground until he lay there. He tried laughing at Mike's comment, but was interrupted by another sharp pain, causing him to groan, which in turn caused him to laugh a little. "Why the fuck is this happening?" he asked as he rubbed his stomach softly and looked over at Mike.

"Dude, you tell me." Mike tried rubbing circles on William's stomach. "Does that feel better?" I hope it's nothing serious. Can you get complications with the baby at such an early stage of pregnancy? Psh, like I know something about pregnancy, yeah.

William tilted his head back a little as another pain went through his stomach. They were getting worse each time one passed through. "Ow!" he yelped. He bit his lip again, trying not to scream. What is going on in there?

"Bill, do you...need to see a doctor?" he asked, nervous. Maybe this is just a stomachache. A really, really bad one.

"I'm beginning to wonder," William groaned. I'll give it a few more minutes, and if it doesn't go away, can we call one?" he asked as he rubbed the bottom half of his stomach. What if something's wrong?

"Yeah, sure, but - we can't really call any of the doctors I know for this, can we?" It has to go away.

"N-no," he gasped. "They wouldn't understand, and I'm not quite ready to become the first pregnant man they've found out about." He groaned. "We'd have to call a vampire doctor," he said as he slowly propped himself up on his elbows. "Oh god," he whispered before turning in the opposite direction of Mike and vomiting.

Mike put a hand over his mouth. "I-I'll get the phone," he said, panicked, before rushing in the bedroom, grabbing his cellphone and coming back in a hurry. "Do you have a number? Anyone I can call?" His hands were shaking.
