The sun is shining and my best friend is pregnant.

William stood behind Mike, still holding one of the guitarist's hands. He stared up at Mikey and reamined silent, not wanting to show any trace fo fear.

"Clear with what?" Mikey asked innocently, keeping an eye out for Butcher. "All you showed me the last time we met was that you thought my heart was in my stomach... so when you killed Nick, was that a lucky shot?"

"I had a feeling you'd bring this up soon." He kept glaring at the man. "Must be because you forgot about that girl you sent to tell me lies and then try to kill me. That was pleasant, too." He held on tighter to William's hand. "I figured we'd be even."

Ryland crept up behind Mike's house and smashed a window in, crawling through the shattered pane. "Sounds like things are just starting up." He grinned to himself and walked through the house like he owned it. He was expecting to find William alone inside but what he found was even better.

He snuck up behind Brad quietly and put his hands on man's shoulders. "Welcome to the clan."

Butcher leapt from the roof and carefully fluttered to the ground, landing next to Mikey with a scared look on his face.

Brad's eyes widened as he felt his blood being drained. "You..." He felt himself crumpling to the floor.

William heard glass break and looked around, trying to find out where it had coem from. He kept his hand in Mike's and stared around at everyone. No wonder he didn't want to trust me earlier...

"So you've got a child now?" Mikey sneered. "Because there is no way we're even whilst my girl's blood is still on your hands." What had supposed to be a light hearted meeting had quickly disappeared into the dusk air.

"Get inside, William. Now!" Mike looked at Butcher, hoping for some kind of explanation. "So you're on his side now?" he asked, almost laughing. "Unbelievable. I bet you listened to everything Mikey told you like a good boy, right? And you believed every word of it without ever wondering how it was from our point of view."

"What do you want from me?" Butcher looked down at his feet. This was hard enough for him as it was.

Ryland backed away and pouted. "Are you all alone in here? I wanted to say hi to Mike and maybe William."

Brad tried to keep his eyes opened. He'd never felt this weak in his life.

William let go of Mike's hand and ran into the house, not before giving the gun back to the guitarist. He ran into the house and locked the door. Worried, he was alarmed when he looked around and couldn't find Brad. "Brad? Are you here?" Please don't let them get to him too. William paused as he heard a familiar voice coming from inside the bedroom. Backing away slowly, he covered his mouth, wishing that he had kept quiet. Oh shit...

Mikey's mouth twitched. "So, your boy's a vampire." He flew closer, so he was almost touching Mike. "And he's pregnant."

Mike raised his gun, this time aiming correctly. His hands were shaking. "If you just think about hurting William and the baby, your clan can say goodbye to their home and leader." He took it further. "Do you think I don't know about your little visits to your daughter? Fire spreads fast in a tomb, you know."

Ryland opened the door the bedroom and stepped out, smiling at William, "You have someone to take care of in here. Since I made a deal with Carden I'm not allowed to talk to you, so I'll just be going then."

He turned and crawled back out the broken window with a laugh.

Butcher sat and hugged his knees to his chest to make himself smaller, withdrawing his wings into his back. What am I going to do?

Brad let his eyes shut heavily. He felt his pulse fading. He wondered how he'd feel the next time he opened his eyes and hoped the change into a vampire wouldn't hurt much.

Shocked, William stood where he was for a moment until Ryland's words sank in. He threw open the door the rest of the way and nearly screamed as he saw Brad laying on the floor, two small teeth marks on his neck. William ruched to the man's side, fell to his knees and propped up Brad's head. "Come on Brad. Stay with me!" I don't know what to do! I don't know what the fuck I'm supposed to do! William yelled for Mike, hoping that the guitarist would hear him. "Mike!"

"Don't you touch her!" Mikey screamed, leaping at Mike. He tore frantically at the man's flash with his hands, before pushing his head up, giving easy access for his neck. He bared his fangs.

Mike screamed, both out of rage and pain. He had heard William - he was in danger. But he couldn't move. "Andy, please, go help William," he begged. "Do it for him!" He tried to hit Mikey with his gun. He didn't know why, but he didn't have the guts to shoot.

Butcher stood and walked inside just to get away from what was happening. "No way Sisky's gonna want me. I'm a traitor. I'm a freak." He muttered those three sentences to himself over and over, wandering inside aimlessly.

"Cold..." Brad mumbled.

"Come on, stay with me!" he said to Brad, still cradling the man's upper body. He tried once more to yell for help. "Help! Please! Mike!" He was shaking, not knowing what to do to help Brad.

"I'm going to enjoy this." Mikey hissed, pressing his body against Mike's to stop the other man getting up. "How will it feel, I wonder, to become one of the hunted?" His fangs seared slowly into Mike's neck.
