Matt raised an eyebrow, wishing he could tell his father what he thought. He opened the door and placed him gently on the bed.

Mike cupped Sisky's cheek, bending his back slightly to be at the same height. "Not before you tell me what's wrong. I was worried about you when you called."

"There's nothing wrong." Sisky blushed and looked down, moving to brush Mike's hand away. "He really can't speak anymore?"

William curled up slightly, his eyes fluttering open. He smiled as best he could. "Thank you," he whispered. He bit his lip. "I love you," he added.

Matt blushed and sat down crosslegged on the floor.

"Sisky, I know you enough to tell you're lying." Mike sighed and straightened his back. "He can't communicate at all. He doesn't know how to write either."

Sisky's face fell and she attempted to turn away. "I'm scared for him."

William smiled over at Matt, his half-lidded eyes beginning to hurt again. He pulled the sheets over himself and closed his eyes, a small smile still on his lips.

Matt leant his forehead on the bed, determined not to leave until William was better.

Mike gently petted the girl's hair. "I'm scared too. William's scared." He smiled faintly. "I'm glad you're not scared of him anymore. If we all take good care of him he'll be fine."

"We were starting to be friends," Sisky refused to look up at Mike. "I asked him what he thinks about me but I wonder if it's changed." She blushed without meaning to.

William heard Matt move over to the side fo the bed and smiled. He flipped over onto his stomach, his head facing in Matt's direction.

Mike didn't notice the faint blush on Sisky's cheeks. "Because he can't clearly answer doesn't mean he can't show you. He smiles when we mention you now. I guess that means he doesn't dislike you at all."

"He does?" Sisky smiled then her blush deepened when the words sunk in. "Nonono Mike, I told him I care about him but... not like that. At least not right now..." The last sentence was barely audible and she didn't even finish it.

William fell asleep soon after, his hair spread out around him as he layed on his stomach.

Mike's eyes widened slightly. "Wait, you...?" He chuckled and cleared his throat. "Are you crushing on Matt?" He couldn't hide his mocking grin. He poked Sisky's side.

Sisky huffed indignantly and glared into the guitarist's eyes before she realized he could be right. "N-no. I just want to help him."

WIlliam rolled over with a small whimper, but didn't wake up.

Mike ruffled the girl's hair. "Better, because that'd only bring more trouble." He laughed nervously. "Can you imagine that - stepchild and stepfather of my kid?"

Sisky flushed a brighter red and hid her face. "Miiiike. Why are you always so mean to me?"

William heard Matt go back to sitting on the floor. He remained silent, making sure that Matt was asleep before he turned back over on his stomach.

"Uhm, so you do like him. Alright." Mike smiled softly and kissed the top of the girl's head. "Whatever happens...make sure neither of you gets hurt. And be patient. That's all I can say."

"Miiiike," Sisky whined again and protested weakly. "I do not. I just have girl hormones. I can't help it if he's... Shut up! I don't even know if he can feel stuff like... I hate you!!!" She crossed her arms and pouted angrily.

William held still as he lay there, wondering if Mike was going ot join him or not. He kept his eyes closed.
