Still scared

Butcher landed carefully and carried Mikey to their room, not really thinking about where he was going. He sat holding Mikey in his lap and running his fingers over the other man's injuries. "Mikey?" He couldn't keep the fear out of his voice.

Mikey swallowed down the blood in his mouth and leant his head on Butcher's chest. "I'm sorry." He whispered, shaking.

Butcher closed his eyes as he knit wounds closed with his power. His energy drained as the healling contnued, but he judged he had enough to put Mikey right again. "Don't talk. You'll be fine."

Mikey nodded mutely, hiding his face in Butcher's chest as his broken body slowly knitted together again.

Butcher breathed in sharply and looked down at Mikey to check his progress. He really should have eaten.

Mikey looked at the other man nervously. He was pale as he continued his work, and the more experienced avian recognised the signs. He needs to feed.

"Feel better?" Butcher asked tiredly, halfway done or so by his judgement.

Mikey staggered out of Butcher's arms. "Go and feed." He whispered. "I can wait." He collapsed on his own bed, hiding his face in the pillow.

"No," Butcher moved to his feet and wrapped his arms back around Mikey. "I can't."

Mikey struggled weakly. "I'm fine!" he snapped. "Well, not fine, but I can wait! You'll permenantly damage yourself if you don't feed!"

"I can't wait," Butcher said harshly. "I have to know you're better. I don't care what happens to me."

Mikey rolled over. "I do." He whispered. "And I don't want to lose someone else."

Butcher went limp and just stared at Mikey. "I'll do it for you then." But he didn't move.

Mikey looked at him miserably. "Go."

Butcher pulled himself into a sitting position, panting slightly. He leaned over Mikey to kiss him on the cheek. "I don't want to."

Mikey pushed him weakly. "You won't be able to heal me properly if you haven't fed." He whispered, letting his head hit the pillow again.

"Mikey, I..." Butcher gave in and stood slowly, making his way across the room.

"Tell me when you get back." Mikey closed his eyes.

"Sure," Butcher pulled himself from the room and lifted from the ground sluggishly.

Mikey shivered, frantically trying to keep his eyes open. "I did it..." He whispered. "They're all gone now..."

Nick pushed tentatively through the wall and sat down next to Mikey. He gently stroked his hair, playing with the blood covered strands. "I'll sit with you until Andrew gets back."

"Nick..." Mikey sobbed. "Is that..." He couldn't finish the sentence.

"I'm here." Nick whispered, pressing his fingers to the avian's bloodstained cheek. "I'm here, and I love you, and I'm not going to leave you." He kissed the top of his head, gaining a physical being for those few seconds.

Mikey visibly relaxed, sinking into the bed. He reached out a hand and touched the shade, watching as the touch gave Nick a physical being.

Nick took Mikey's hand, stroking it lovingly. "You did it." He whispered. "They are all gone... except Carden." The other man gave a sleepy murmur. "Stay with me, Mikey." The shade added a harsher tone to his voice. "You have to live for all of us, remember?"
