Adelaide looked at her own wing quizically, wondering why it couldn't lift her up like Nils' wings could.

Now Nils was asleep, Mikey transferred his attention onto the closest child - Adelaide. He smiled softly at her.

"Ah?" Adelaide's wings twitched and she looked up at Mikey with questioning eyes.

"Nii," Adelaide looked at Nils and back at her wings.

Mikey stroked one of Adelaide's wings between his fingers, eyebrows raised.

Adelaide huffed in frustration at not being able to communicate what she wanted to say and slowly started to move her wings to test them.

Mikey's brow furrowed and he moved his hand away. "Addy?"

Adelaide flapped her wings, trying to figure out how Nils lifted off the ground. She pouted and tried harder until she lifted up a little.

"Um..." Butcher stared. He was speechless.

Mikey's eyes widened. "Can she even crawl?"

"I don't know. I haven't seen her move much," Butcher watched Adelaide flap her wings and smile triumphantly.

Mikey chuckled and lay back on his bed, cuddling Nils gently.

Adelaide tried moving forward slowly and fell back down on the bed after a few inches.

"She hasn't..." Butcher frowned as he thought.

"Hmm?" Mikey lifted Adelaide onto his stomach quietly.

"Josie freezes people, the wonder twins have fire and water, Chase has that," Butcher pointed at the metal still lingering in front of the window. "Nils takes pain, Reve does that one thing, and Tamsin changes."

Adelaide nuzzled Mikey's stomach curiously.

Mikey scratched his head. "Why do I have the funny feeling we have more children then that...?" He counted on his fingers. "Because I'm awful at maths, that's why." He watched Adelaide.

Adelaide patted Mikey's stomach gently and cooed.

"Burdee," Butcher chuckled.

"Bur," Adelaide cooed to Mikey's stomach.

"She'll be a good big sister," Butcher smiled at the gentle way Adelaide nuzzled Mikey's stomach.

Butcher sat down on the edge of the bed and looked at the rest of the children. "Chase seems calmer."
