Time Lapse

Chase's eyes were still filled with tears, but he lifted his small arms out to his brother as forks and random metal objects flew out to block off the window.

Butcher watched them with amazement. "It's okay, Chase. Don't call Mr. Icebox up here, please."

Chase snuggled into Nils but the new window shield didn't drop.

"You've got to be careful with Chase. He's little," Butcher said softly and watched the floating objects.

"Ickle burdee," Butcher nodded in agreement. "What are we going to do about that?"

Butcher shrugged. "I hope so, but I guess it's not so bad since none of the babies will fall out now."

Chase squeaked in surprise.

Adelaide reached out her arms happily and Reve giggled and clapped her hands at the floating metal.

"You're still good, Nils. You said you were sorry and Chase forgave you," Butcher smiled down at the two of them.

Adelaide snuggled into her Daddy and Reve poked him in the arm.

Chase touched his face where Nils kissed him gingerly like he couldn't believe it happened.

Butcher smiled back at Mikey and kept his arms out to catch Nils and Chase just in case.

Chase clung to Nils tightly and looked down with wide eyes.

Adelaide looked up at Tamsin in surprise at the bird on her head. Reve laughed maniacally.

Chase relaxed and looked around in contentment.

"Are you okay?" Butcher asked as Adelaide patted Mikey in concern.

Butcher smiled and petted Nils' hair. "You're going to have to practice." He watched Mikey with worried eyes.

Reve suddenly noticed Mikey's stomach and stared at it, preparing to reach forward to poke.

Butcher leaned down and kissed Nils' forehead. "Daddy's in pain. Let's move closer to him." Butcher cuddled Nils and Chase close and scooted towards Mikey.

Reve decided to pull at Mikey's lip instead.

"Don't do that, sweetie," Butcher gently removed Reve's fingers from Mikey's face.

Butcher smiled down at Nils and tickled Reve's palm to distract her from trying to resume her attack on Mikey.
