"N-no..." Mikey couldn't concentrate. "I don't think so." He leant his head against Butcher's chest. "The roof is spinning."

Butcher eased a hand onto the back of Mikey's head, hoping he didn't have a concussion. "I don't know if I can heal you if I don't know what's wrong."

Mikey stared at him dazedly, before going limp.

Butcher held Mikey in his arms. "Mikey? Mikey are you okay? Speak to me. Please?" Butcher shook him slightly before deciding it was a bad idea. When you have a concussion you're not supposed to fall sleep I think. He has his pin feathers so he should be okay. Maybe...

Mikey's head lolled on his shoulders, slamming into his thin chest.

Butcher supported Mikey's head so it wouldn't flop down because the sight made him feel a little sick. He put his hand on the back of Mikey's head and closed his eyes. Now was as good a time as any to explore the extent of his healing ability. He decided to try to probe for the source of Mikey's injury, if he had one.

Mikey shuddered, body rigid as Butcher began to probe his mind.

Please work. Please work. Butcher tried to fight off the pain blindly. It was all his fault that Mikey fell like that.

Mikey's eyes flew open. "I forgot..." He said weakly.

"Forgot what?" Butcher put a hand on Mikey's cheek, glad he was alright.

"I... I haemorrhaged during my pregnancy." Mikey flushed. It still sounded strange. "It won't kill me, but... I should rest more, and I don't."

"Oh," Butcher blushed. He hadn't really though about where the little girl came from.

Mikey laughed. "Despite being part bird, we don't lay eggs." He lifted up his shirt and pointed to a faded scar that stretched across his stomach.

Butcher was curious so he reached out to touch the scar. It wasn't as precise as a surgical cut would be, so he could only wonder at the circumstances it was made under. "Then uh how does it work?" He's been pregnant before. Wow. That's bizarre.

Mikey shivered at the touch. "Well, you kinda lay eggs." He frowned. "You carry the baby in this little translucent egg thing, then you cut it out, and incubate it when it's full size." He frowned. "Well, that's what we did anyway."

"Is it just kind of in there? Is it the same for everyone?" Butcher ran his fingers over the scar one last time before pulling away. "I could probably help deliver um... cut out eggs."

"Yeah, it's just... in there. Like a Ceasarian, I guess." Mikey shrugged. "And I don't know, I just told Nick to get it out of me because it hurt."

Butcher pulled Mikey's shirt back down for him and gave his stomach a little pat with a smile. "I wonder if it's always like that," he mused before asking again, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I think so." Mikey flushed and gave him a shy smile.

Butcher smiled back before realizing that maybe they were in a bit of an awkward position with Mikey on his back and all. He offered a hand to help Mikey get up.

Mikey accepted it with a word of thanks, rising shakily to his feet. He stifled a yawn.

"You're tired. You should go to bed. It's been a long day," He narrowly avoided saying 'we should go to bed', feeling that would have been very awkward.

Butcher spread his wings to follow and got carried up a little higher than he'd intended to go. "Yeah."

Mikey grabbed his arm to prevent him soaring off. "Come on then." He didn't let go, gently tugging Butcher down with him.
