"No," Butcher blushed slightly. He had been ashamed to show them previously, but now he knew there wasn't anything wrong with having them. Mike was wrong.

"They're a nice colour." Mikey said, his voice breaking. "I... Someone very close to me had wings like that. But a little more red." He gave Butcher a sad smile. "I guess we better find you a room."

He turned his head to look at his wings. "You lost someone." Butcher felt some anger flare up in the pit of his stomach. It better not have been Mike. His attituded towards his friend had changed dramatically since ariving here. This was where he belonged, and he knew that now.

Mikey nodded. "Two people. But one was blonde." He put the water away, his wings fluttering languidly. "It was a long time ago." He stood in the middle of the room, looking unsure. "I... do you want to share a room with someone, or a separate one? Every room has two beds."

"I don't know," Butcher stood awkwardly. He didn't really have anyone and he wasn't even sure how the person he cared about felt for him.

Mikey cocked his head, seemingly recovered from his vulnerable moment. "You better share with me. We get people from all walks of life here. Some of us aren't picky who we feed off. Just for the minute." He added hastily. "Until you find your wings."

"Alright," Butcher clutched his bag to himself and stepped towards Mikey.

Mikey gave him a smile and walked up the stairs, turning his head every so often to make sure Butcher kept up. He opened a large oak door. "Master bedroom." He said with a chuckle. "Best one." A blast of cold air hit them.

Butcher shivered a little since he hadn't put his stained t-shirt back on and he'd left his hoodie in the washing machine at Mike's house. "Anything would be fine with me."

Mikey stepped in and turned down the air conditioning. "You've been living like a human." He explained with a light laugh. "Soon, you'll be glad for this. It gets unbearably hot sometimes."

Butcher smiled slightly and stepped in. "Where should I put this?" He lifted up his bag slightly.

Mikey moved over to one of the wardrobes and threw it open. "Oh..." He whispered, staring at the clothes inside. "I forgot. Not that one."

Butcher watched patiently, deciding maybe it was better not to ask. He felt like he'd give Mikey anything for being so generous with him.

Mikey wiped the tears out of his eyes. He didn't usually cry when he saw this. He found an empty wardrobe and gestured for Butcher to put his clothes in it. Whilst the other man's back was turned, he opened a drawer of the chest of drawers and gently stroked the items inside.

Butcher unzipped his bag and started putting his things in the wardrobe. It surprised him how much shabbier everything looked out of the grimy apartment he used to live in. He poked his finger through a hole in one of his shirts with a sigh and stuffed it away.

"We can get you more clothes." Mikey shut the drawer loudly, breaking the spell. "Don't worry. We amend them, so they're perfect for us." He gestured to the sleeveless long jacket he was wearing. "Like so."

Butcher stuffed his bag in with the rest of his things and shut the wardrobe. "That's good. I keep ripping shirts and they get all frayed and fall apart." It didn't hurt that he couldn't affort durable materials anymore.

Mikey sat down on his bed. "Is there anything else I haven't explained?" He asked, picking up his hairbrush and running it through his long auburn hair.

"What's with our hair?" The hairbrush reminded him and Butcher ran a rand over his beard. It had grown like crazy since he'd become an avian and it seemed he could barely keep it back.

Mikey laughed. "One of our little bonuses." He pulled a face. "I don't know." He shrugged. "It just grows extremely quick. Some people do try to keep it short, but that involves cutting it once a week, and shaving twice a day. Not sure why."

Butcher laughed. "I thought I was going insane."

He looked around a bit. "Is there anything you want to know from me? Or do you already know all about what I've been doing with your crazy fingerprint thing?"

Mikey laughed. "I only used my 'crazy finger print thing' to discover if you were well. It would be rude to use it to intrude. So... I know almost nothing about you." He twisted his hair up and fastened it there, tongue poking out his mouth.

"That's very kind, sir," Butcher grinned. About now he would have flopped down and scooted close to Mikey, but he didn't think it appropriate in this situation since they barely knew each other.

Mikey crossed his legs, stretching out. "Do you fly a lot?" He asked, arm flopping lazily over the side of the bed.
