In your eyes, I lost my place, could stay a while...

Mikey watched his healer work silently, before turning to Mike. "You do know that's not recommended for anyone, right?" He checked.

Mike frowned. He had been watching William and had lost track of what Mikey had been saying. "What? What's not recommended?"

"There you go," Butcher pulled his hand away with a smile, leaving behind a smooth, old looking scar. "All better. Be careful now."

William nodded, shocked by how quickly the pain had left. He looked down at his wrist, impressed by the smooth scar. "Wow," he whispered.

"Having a pair of scissors stuck in your wrist." Mikey said to Mike. Suddenly, he stopped. What? How did I know that?

Mike simply stared at him. "How did you...?" He glanced at William.

"You did that to yourself with scissors?" Butcher looked horrified. He turned to Mike, "Do what? Heal William? I just can."

William nodded silently, the sad look reappearing on his face. He wanted to look over at Mike but was too afraid to.

Mikey looked down at his hands. "This must be what Nick was on about." He said to Butcher. "You think?" He shrugged and reached into his messenger bag.

"But Nick is..." Mike couldn't say it. "Mikey, how did you know?"

"Something crazy happened. You had to have been there," Butcher looked suspiciously at Mike, "You aren't hurt too are you?"

William nodded. "He is," he whispered. "On his back," he added, still staring towards the ground.

Mikey chewed on the inside of his cheek. "I think I can... do more than I used to be able to." he said slowly. He handed William a large, old book.

Mike looked at Butcher. "No, I'm fine. My back is alright now." He stepped back to lean on a wall. Not showing. He then looked at Mikey's book. "What is it?"

"Pride is bad," Butcher smiled and walked up to Mike, hugging him and sticking his hands under man's shirt without asking. "Doesn't feel fine." He frowned and got to work healing the cuts he felt. "You could move so this doen't look so bad."

William took the book from Mikey, examining it's cover. It had some dust and age amrks on it. He carefully held it, staring down at it. "Thanks," he said quietly.

"Be careful with it." Mikey said, equally quietly. "It's an original." He rifled in the messenger bag again. "Nick better have used plastic..."

Mike reluctantly moved away from the wall. "Please...don't let William see my back," he whispered to Butcher. "It's really disgusting."

Butcher moved behind Mike, careful not to lift his shirt any higher than what was necessary and to heal the lower back first. "It does look pretty bad. But not for long so cheer up."

William glanced over at Mike before looking back at the book. He carefully flipped through a few pages, noticing that the whole thing was handwritten. "What is it about?" he asked.

"You guys." Mikey pulled out a bottle. "I found it, I think it has to be fifteenth century. Needless to say, its got details of your condition. Here, Nick made this." He handed the vampire the bottle.

"Yeah, but I'll still have scars, right?" Mike asked Butcher. "Nasty scars all over. Be careful - my wings are starting to show a little. Don't touch the bumps, it hurts."

"I'll try to make them smoother then. I don't see what your problem is. Scars are pretty badass." Butcher peered under Mike's shirt. "Yeah you've got big nasty bruises where your wings are going to be. Nothing I can do about those. They'll just come back I think."

William took the small, green bottle from the Avian and stared at it. "What's this?" he asked, still confused. None of this is making sense...

Mikey pulled a face. "It'll come to me in a minute..." he frowned, chewing on the inside of his lip. He gently touched the bottle. "Relieves pain and adds nutrients to blood." The words came unbidden to his lips. He blinked, hoping no one had noticed his strange behaviour.
