Slipping away..

"The nursery vampires made a mistake," Ryland pulled the baby's arm out to show a cut. "They've mixed his blood with clan blood. We'll give you the child if you let us keep our independence as a clan," he showed that the was following events in the world much more closely than he let on.

Damian frowned then glanced back at Aliceabella. "And her?" He asked, nodding at the female.

Aliceabella tried to keep her eyes open, knowing if she closed them it would be fatal.

Ryland turned to look at the injured woman. "I don't care about her, but if you wish to give her as a sign of the agreement we'll find a place to contain her."

Damian smirked and nodded, using the blood tie to give Aliceabella one last burst of pain before he took the child.

Aliceabella whimpered a little and let her head loll back, closing her eyes.

Ryland looked at Aliceabella, head turned slightly to the side to check her injuries. It looked like his plans were going to change again.

Damain glanced back at Ryland. "Just so you know, she suffers from extreme nightmares." He smirked and strode off, no longer concearned about his old mate.

Aliceabella let out a small moan of pain and tried to open her eyes, only to find they felt oddly heavy- they wouldnt open.

Wren watched Damian walk away, before glancing to Ryland. "Any orders, my lord?" she asked calmly. Man my mother would have a cow if she saw him.

"None at the moment." Ryland scoooped Aliceabella up.

Aliceabella moaned as she felt someone lift her. "Damian?" She asked, her voice fearful.

Wren watched the woman impassively, her expression unreadable. She faintly reminded her of someone, but she shook it off as she bristled slightly.

"Humans are so fragile," Ryland commented off-handedly. "It looks like I'll have to pay another visit to Mandible House. Wait... Andrew wasn't there."

Reconising Ryland's voice Aliceabella relaxed slightly, panicing a little more when she found her eyes still felt to heavy to open.

Wren's gaze snapped to Ryland as he spoke, before she frowned a little. "Andrew?" she asked quietly. "I don't understand, my lord."

"The avian healer. It would be no good if we let the sign of our agreement die. Our own doctors wouldn't be able to do the job half as fast and the avians must be put in their place," Ryland explained for Wren's benefit.

Aliceabella managed to open her eyes, smiling weakly in relief. "Where's Damian gone?" She whispered, not really caring as long as he was far away from her.

Ryland frowned when he realized he was explaining himself, something he rarely if ever did, and turned to walk away. He ignored Aliceabella's question.

Wren took in this information carefully, her eyes narrowing slightly as she mulled it all over inside her head. She barely registered Aliceabella's question. "Wouldn't it be better to keep her stable first, my lord?" she murmured, thinking aloud accidentally.

Aliceabella attempted to snuggle into Ryland for warmth due to the fact her body was drenched- but stopped as pain shot through her. "I don't feel well..." She whispered, sounding like a small child.

"Avian healing is instant. Would you care to see?" Ryland asked as he walked towards Mandible House.

Wren shot a glance at Aliceabella; something between disgust and revulsion. Gutless child. You remind me so badly of Ginelle back in England.

Aliceabella spotted Wren glaring at her and glared back- looking somewhat demonic with all her black eye makeup running down her pale face.

Wren smirked at the other woman and muttered something else in Latin.
