Nils muttered sulkily at his position being disturbed, but stayed asleep.

Mikey put the two babies he was carrying onto the table and prised Chase from Butcher's arms.

Butcher smiled and turned to Adelaide and Tamsin, "Can you two forgive Papa?"

Chase blinked up at Mikey because he didn't have a clue what was going on.

Mikey chuckled and put Chase down next to Nils. He slipped his arms around Butcher's waist, leaning his head onto his lover's back.

Butcher smiled and put his hands over Mikey's, relaxing in his arms.

"I missed you." Mikey whispered, nuzzling into his back. "I didn't think you'd ever come back."

Butcher gently loosened Mikey's grip so he could turn around and hold him back. "I was afraid you wouldn't take me back."

"I was so scared." Mikey whispered, tears in his eyes. "I can't lose you. I can't."

Butcher gently kissed Mikey's forehead and cheeks, "You won't."

Mikey looked up at him with a sad smile and slipped his arms around Butcher's neck. "I said bad things."

"You said you didn't mean them," Butcher kissed Mikey's nose and smiled softly.

Butcher leaned in closer so that his lips lightly brushed Mikey's when he spoke. "It doesn't matter now. I forgive you."

"You don't have to," Butcher whispered back and kissed Mikey gently, just the contact of lips.

"Okay, "Butcher kissed Mikey's cheek and smiled at him. He didn't want to argue.

Mikey nuzzled into Butcher' neck, hiding the nervousness in his eyes as he bit it gently.

Butcher's eyes slid closed and his hand almost tangled itself into Mikey's hair when he realized that some of the children might still be awake. "Mikey?"

Mikey quirked his eyebrow and messed up the back of his hair selfconsciously.
