Cleansing the soul

Aliceabella looked up and wrapped her arms aroung her stomach tightly.
Vlad began crying, he didn't like anyone who made his mother upset.

Evangeline stiffed, eyes on the knife. "Let me go, damnit! Chao Lingshen let me go! Get out of my resort!"

Aliceabella frowned, wondering if it was worth trying to set the knife on fire.

Chao chuckled. "No, don't think I will Eva-chan." she circled Evangeline slowly. "In fact, I think I'll make myself comfortable." she smirked. "Won't you join me?"

Aliceabella hugged her stomach, glaring at Chao.

Chao shot a smirk at Aliceabella and cupped Evangeline's face again. "What's the matter? Want something?"

Aliceabella shook her head quickly, looking over at her whimpering son.

Evangeline watched, face set firmly. "Chao, get off me." she kicked her legs, blue eyes glaring. Chao chuckled and ran her fingers through Evangeline's hair teasingly. "No." She nodded to a robot and the cage holding Vlad was shaken a little.

Vlad screamed, trying to move away from the shaking.
Aliceabella hissed and broke free of the robot, "STOP IT!" She screamed loud enough to wake the dead.

Chao rolled her eyes. "You're boring." she let go of Evangeline and swept from the basement. A couple of robots stood guard at the door, but the others followed Chao.

Aliceabella ignored the robots and swept over to the cage, shoving any robots that came near her out of the wat. Her eyes were bright blue again.

Evangeline watched her curiously. "Calm down. Can you get me out of this? Then I can help." she struggled against the ropes again, flailing her arms at the elbow and kicking her 10-year-old legs.

Aliceabella clicked her fingers and the ropes burnt to shreds, a slight smirk on her face.

Evangeline shrieked as she fell to the floor. She scowled. "Why didn't you do that before?"

"Complications." Aliceabella whispered in a voice that wasn't her own.

Evangeline blinked at her. "What the hell is going on?"

"Oh nothing." Aliceabella clicked her fingers and the lock on the door melted. She removed Vlad from the cage and kissed his forehead.
Vlad giggled, "PA!"

Evangeline scrambled to her feet and brushed herself down. "You sure? You seem kinda weird."

Aliceabella chuckled, "You honestly think Aliceabella is capeable of controling her ability?" Aliceabella turned, her eyes brighter than ever.
Vlad hugged her, "Vladlooopaa!"

Evangeline gulped, suddenly realising how vulnerable her magic still was.

Aliceabella smirked, "Count Damian Alucard, take it you've heard of me?"
Vlad giggled, hugging his parents.

Evangeline took a step back. Even in her resort, he was more powerful than her. Her eyes narrowed, determined not to let him know. "Lic Lac La Lac Lilac!" she chanted.

Aliceabella moved forward, clamping a hand over Evangeline's mouth. "None of that."

Evangeline backed away, trying to chant through the hand.

Aliceabella raised an eyebrow and suddenly Damian appeared in front of her, looking paler than usual but otherwise perfectly normal. He placed his hand back over Evangeline's mouth.
