Cleansing the soul

Aliceabella stared at the screen in surprise.

Another robot girl gave them a thumbs up. Evangeline nodded and watched as the screen turned on. A black-haired Japanese girl with glasses and a lab coat on flickered into view. "Hi Eva-chan!"

Aliceabella blinked and stared in shock at the screen.

Evangeline scowled. "Eva-sama!" she corrected sharply. "Good to see you again, Satomi Hakase-san. Research going well?"

Aliceabella stepped back, staying silent. She was good at that.

Satomi beamed and nodded. "I'll see about updating Chachamaru's systems later on, but for now she should be fine." Evangeline nodded for her to continue. Satomi paused. "Chao-san says hello, by the way."

Aliceabella frowned curiously.

Evangeline's eyes narrowed. "I see. Oh, I almost forgot to ask." she added, in a falsely happy tone. "How are her plans to expose the Magi?"

Aliceabella lost interest in the conversation, placing a hand on her stomach to see if she could feel the baby kicking.

Satomi shifted uncomfortably. "U-Urr...erm...N-Negi-sensei has been doing really well with his training!" Evangeline rolled her eyes. "Bad save, Hakase."

Aliceabella smiled when she felt a small kick.
In his room, Vlad began crying hysterically.

Evangeline sighed. "Hakase, do you have any information for me? Anything on the curse? On the Thousand Master? At all?"

Aliceabella looked up, "Thousand Master?" It sounded vaugly familiar.

Evangeline looked round. "You know of him? He cursed me to this...pitiful existance 10 years ago." her fists clenched furiously. "I am going to get back at him!"

Aliceabella frowned, "Pitiful existance?"

Evangeline looked down at herself, then dissolved the 'fake' 20-year-old body, revealing her 10-year-old form. "This curse. Look at me! I was cursed to attend high school for ten years until I broke the barriers and moved here! And it's all his fault!"

Aliceabella stared in shock, "So, you're really ten years old?"

Evangeline stamped her foot, looking all the more childish. "NO!" she screamed. "I am a 700-year-old vampire doll-master, who was cursed to look like a ten-year-old, with limitted powers!" Evangeline shook with rage. "He promised to remove the curse, but then the idiot got himself killed!"

Aliceabella took a step backwards, "Okay!" She squeaked.
Vlad began crying louder, annoyed his mother hadn't rushed to see him.

Evangeline sighed and turned away, stalking back towards the screen. "Sorry. A lack of progress irritates me." She shot an accusing glare at Satomi, which she readily ignored.

Aliceabella nodded, "I'll be right back." She scuttled off to get Vlad.

Evangeline nodded. "Chachamora will accompany you." Chachamaru frowned, not understanding the need. Evangeline glanced to her and frowned too. "I feel uneasy." she explained shortly.

Aliceabella stepped into the room and pulled Vlad out of the crib, "Whats wrong Vladdy?"
He whimpered.

Chachamaru nodded to Evangeline and swept from the room, presumably to check for problems. Evangeline looked back to Satomi.

Aliceabella returned to the room, feeding Vlad as she walked.
