Nils mumbled to himself, his bottom sticking up in the air as he rubbed his face against his father's wing. Mikey rescued Chase before he got squashed.

Chase gave Mikey a lick and snuggled into him for thanks. Butcher chuckled and watched Nils, "What're you doing, little man?"

Nils looked up with his wide eyes, staring at Butcher. Mikey absentmindedly rocked Chase.

In answer, Nils yawned, making a nest out of his father's wing. Mikey stroked the side of Chase's face tiredly.

"Daddy's boy," Butcher chuckled. Chase tried to capture one of Mikey's fingers in his small ones.

Chase touched Mikey's fingernail, amazed at the size of it.

Mikey's smile grew. He rocked Chase gently. Tamsin, back in her puppy form, licked Adelaide's ear from behind.

Adelaide's eyes widened and she turned to see Tamsin with a smile.

Tamsin turned back to her baby form, blowing a raspberry at her sister. Mikey shook his head, his eyes beginning to close of their own accord.

Mikey 'hmmed' in response, snuggling into the bed. He held Chase close.

I'm in charge now. Butcher looked around with a tiny, mental cackle.

Zeke muttered something to Chester and chuckled.
