A single tear crossed Tom's face, pale eyelids shutting.

Mikey sat down by the bath. "Just wait, Tom." He said in a quiet, conversational tone. "We named one of the children after you."

At the mention of children Michael noticed that Mikey was smaller than before and looked around until he saw the eggs in the tub.

"You're doing great Tom," Butcher said reassuringly, touching Tom's forehead brieflly before going back to work.

Matt rocked slowly back and forth, unaware he was doing it. He felt a sudden urge to find Sisky, but didn't move.

A faint smile crossed Tom's face as his colour began to return.

Michael moved closer to the tub to stare at the eggs with wide eyes.

Matt leant his head on the bathtub, relaxing slightly as the blood was no longer running.

Butcher chuckled when he heard Michael move towards the eggs but didn't look up from healing Tom.

Mikey froze as his sensitive ears heard his friend' breathing stop. "Tom? TOM? Tom, please..."

Butcher hissed and moved from Tom's head wound to see if there was a problem in his chest.

Michael moved closer, looking at Butcher for a change of facial expression that meant he knew what was wrong.

With careful hands, Matt undid Tom's shirt, trying to find a cause to his sudden... death?

Tom's smile began to look more and more fixed as his body temperature began to cool.

The crack grew bigger and the top broke off. A tiny paw appeared out the top and an almost inaudible mew floated out.
