Do You Wanna Leave or Something?

"The rattle," Butcher said distractedly and walked away to find it. It had been a while since he'd seen the toy and he was admittedly not altogether sad about it.

"Rattle," Butcher looked around the room he shared with his little family for a moment before he spotted it. "Aha!" He grabbed the toy and returned to Mikey.

Butcher grinned, happy that Nils was better and also that he wasn't the one hit, "That's good."

Butcher leaned against the wall to watch, smiling softly.

Butcher looked down at Mikey and considered playing with his hair but thought better of it and slid down the wall to sit next to him. "Ow." He slid a little too fast near the bottom of the wall and fell hard.

Butcher poked his tongue out, accidently licking the side of Mikey's face. "Nyah."

"Of course," Butcher nodded. "He'll want to pit his babies against ours."

"Nils kisses or Daddy kisses?" Butcher asked as if it was a logical question.

Butcher thought for a moment and shrugged, leaning a little to kiss Nils on the forehead then straightening to give Mikey one too.

Butcher chuckled, feeling safe and happy for the moment.

Butcher smiled and snuggled closer to Mikey.

"Can you imagine being punched by eight little fists?" Butcher asked quietly and sighed. "But it will be worth it if we get to see eight cute little sleeping faces."
