Perhaps out of habit, Mike walked over to William and wrapped an arm around him, rubbing his back with the other. "It's fine," he repeated after him.

William shook his head. He smirked, taking a sick satisfaction out of what had just happened. He wiped his mouth with his hand, staggering for a moment. First he cheats on me, and then he tries to kill me. This must really be love then.

"Don't leave me. I'm begging you. William..." Mike tried his best to hold back tears. "I don't deserve you, I know, but I love you, I swear...I'll make up for it in every possible way, just don't do this to me..."

William stopped all movement. "This is the second time that you've done something that has nearly killed me," he whispered, turning to face Mike. "I thought you meant it when you said you loved me," he shook his head in disbelief again.

Mike broke down, unable to hold back anymore. "I do....that's because I do..." He didn't know how to justify his acts. "It's true, I wanted to kill you," he said bitterly, raising his voice. "I wanted to snap your neck or strangle you until you choke in my arms. Happy?" He had to stop to take a deep breath. "Because I can't stand seeing you suffer like this everyday because of me. I wanted to end the pain once and for all. Is that what you wanted to hear?"

William continued shaking his head. "If you wanted to see that happen, you could have just as easily asked me and I would have done it myself," he whispered. He looked up at Mike with blank eyes full of tears that he wasn't going to let fall.

"I didn't want to see it happen! Ever!" Mike yelled, terribly angered by the man. "But you were there, in pain, on this fucking hospital bed, and I just..." He hid his face in his hands with shame. "I didn't realize what I was doing. I didn't do it."

"And yet I still trusted you," William almost whimpered, trying to hide the sadness in his voice. He raised and dropped his shoulders, sliding down the wall he was leaning on until he hit the ground. "What did I do wrong?" he asked Mike, finally starting to cry again.

"You're too fucking perfect," Mike let out as a whisper. "I don't want to see your skin stained by blood, I don't want to see the look in your eyes when you can't bear the pain..." He took a few deep breaths. "I'm the problem. Have you forgotten already? I shot Nick. I'd rather kill than watch innocent people suffer for too long. I couldn't stop myself." He attempted to dry his tears. "Go find your son. Tell him what the man you were supposed to marry made you go through. He'll protect you from everything, even me. Do it."

William shook his head, punching the wall out of frustration. "No!" he yelled, bursting into tears again. He curled up his legs, backing himself firmly against the wall. "I only ever wanted someone who cared," he whispered. Without stopping himself, he leaned over, kissing Mike, their tears mixing together.

Mike kissed William back, arms around him, before gently pushing him away. He looked into his eyes before leaning forward and catching a tear between his lips. "I know I can't have your trust," Mike whispered against the boy's skin in a desperate plea. "Just take a decision and stick to it. Can you still love me...?"

William looked into Mike's eyes. "I forgave you after you cheated on me and then complimented my face for his acts while you cheated on me. I'm carrying your children. But most importantly," he started, moving over to Mike. He moved the guitarist's legs, placing one of his own on either side. "I said I'd marry you tomorrow," he whispered, leaning forward to kiss Mike. As soon as he did so, a louding crackling noise was heard. A second later, a downpour of rain followed. William didn't care; he only deepened the kiss.

Mike only held William closer, kissing him with more need and passion than he had in a long time, grateful that it wouldn't be their last kiss. He still believed all their problems would vanish the next day after the wedding ceremony. The man broke the kiss and helped William up on his feet. "You'll catch a cold if we stay here."

William stood up slowly, his legs still shaking. He held onto Mike, trying to stay upright. He shivered, trying his best to cover up his stomach as they thunder cracked in the sky yet again.

"We can probably reach the Mandible House," Mike suggested. "It's not too far away. We'll get dry clothes." And Matt can beat me up eventually. He supported William's weight as much as he could while walking towards the building.

William remained silent, following Mike as the rain fell on them both, making their already dreary appearances worse. He stared at the ground the whole way to Mandible House.
