Mikey chuckled. He licked his finger and cleaned the little girl's face of chocolate.

Adelaide giggled a little louder and grabbed Mikey's finger with one of her small hands.

Adelaide didn't notice and she couldn't see Mikey's wings well from her position anyways so she went right on giggling.

Mikey crooned a song gently to her. "I like it when we roll over and over and talk to ourselves..." He smiled. "I wrote that with Uncle Tom."

"There it is," Butcher whispered in a choked voice. He slowed down and just stared at the building.

Mikey flopped down in a chair, exhausted. He put Adelaide on the table with a bit of left over cookie dough another avian had been using. "Play with that whilst Daddy rests." He put his head on the table.

Bored, Nils took Butcher's thumb and stuck it in his mouth.

Adelaide patted the dough curiously and poked it. She looked surprised when she left a hole.

"Nils, remember not to eat Papa," Butcher started walking again and made his way to the front door quickly.

Adelaide broke off a piece of the cookie dough and her eyes widened in astonishment.

"You could suck your own thumb you know," Butcher said hoarsely and chuckled weakly as he opened the door to step inside.
