Tom woke with a gasp. He looked down at his hand and slowly unwrapped the bandages. He smiled as he realised it had healed.

Michael paused and stared at the ruined sofa, not sure he wanted to know how it broke.

Tom chuckled and raised an eyebrow. "H-huge vampire? Sat on it, bottom fell out, leant back and the baby went flying." He stared at his shaking hands.

"Wow," Michael laughed when he imagined it. Moving closer to Tom he frowned. "Have you been sitting there this whole time?"

"Are you okay?" Michael looked down and noticed Tom's hand had healed.

Tom nodded, flushing as his stomach rumbled. "It healed."

"You're hungry. I'm sure Sisky won't mind if you take something." Michael tried to remember if he had ever seen Tom eat.

Tom froze for a fraction of a second before shaking his head. "I'm not. Nervous reaction."

"Are you sure?" Michael was certain that Tom hadn't eaten anything at all since coming to Chicago.

Michael looked down at Tom's arm, trying to remember how thin Bill had been shirtless. Not healthy...
