Mikey wrenched Butcher out of Ryland's grasp, throwing him across the bathroom. He cringed slightly as his lover crashed against the wall.

Nils giggled as he was hugged by several flailing arms at once.

Ryland rubbed the forming bruise with a chuckle and straighened to look down at the egg. "It's small."

Butcher grunted as he hit the wall and automatically curled himself up protectively.

Ryland raised and eyebrow as he reached down for the egg defiantly, "I'm sorry I didn't come here for that."

You can do it. Crawl away. Just crawl out the room. Butcher tried to cheer himself into moving but it was hard.

Nils wailed loudly as his arm went up in flames.

Ryland moved quickly to snatch up the egg at the sound of Nils' wail from the other room. "The runt doesn't deserve to survive."

Butcher managed to sit up and held his head, feeling the damage. It's healing.

Mikey choked back a cry of horror and stepped forward. "Give him to me!"

Butcher considered moving to trip Ryland but that might make him drop Chase.

Butcher slowly made his way back to the bedroom since he knew he was no help to Mikey. "Papa's never going to completely recover is he?" he muttered under his breath.

"Thought you'd say that," Ryland smiled and turned, throwing the egg as hard as he could down the stairwell. "So what will it be, Russell? Revenge or rescue?" he yelled as the egg flew through the air.

Butcher shuddered as he pulled himself onto the bed with his children. "Chester, we don't set people on fire."

Mikey gave a scream of horror as the egg hit the floor and cracked open. He pushed past Ryland, tripping down the stairs to get it. He cradled the bloodstained and broken baby to his chest.
