Guilty Pleasure

The cuts on Aliceabella's body had stopped bleeding now as she lay motionless.

"Oh thank god." Dane breathed a sigh of relief. "I think she was attacked thought..."

"Is she alive?" Ryland peered down at her.

Dane nodded. "She was muttering your name when I found her anyway, I think fire was involved with how she was hurt but I dont see any burns."

Aliceabella's breath began to become slightly more normal, flames creeping down her arms.

"Oh," Ryland turned to walk away. "Take care of her for me. She'll find her way home."

Dane grabbed Ryland by the back of the neck. "You are not leaving her!"

Aliceabella's eyes opened groggily, blood tears sliding down her face. "Ryland?" She whispered slowly.

Ryland sighed and picked Aliceabella up. "Happy?" He continued walking.

Dane nodded. "As a clam." He muttered, heading back towards starbucks.

Aliceabella looked up at Ryland, frowning when she saw the wound from where he'd been hit with the spade. "What happened to you?" She asked quietly.

"There is a new protector in the city." He looked her over. "You need to be more careful. No walking out alone until you're able to defend yourself." He wasn't heading in the direction of the Meagan.

Aliceabella smiled softly. "I managed to use the...fire thing though." She didn't notice where he was going.

"Good," Ryland said absently, turning the corner to a familiar building.

Aliceabella frowned suddenly. "Where are we going?"

"To visit a relative of mine," Ryland chuckled.

Aliceabella shrugged and stayed silent, resting her head against his chest.
