Butcher watched the conflicting emotions play across Sisky's face: love, fear, and pride.

Mike laughed with Caitlyn, then poking her nose. Right then, it seemed to him like she was supposed to be born, her cute giggles were needed. "And that'll be Uncle Mike to you," he whispered.

Caitlyn looked at Mike with wonder, not understanding what he was saying. She decided to bite his fingers as her mother sat back down next to Matt.

Butcher smiled and reached to scratch the opposite shoulder with his left hand.

Caitlyn stopped biting to giggle and copy Mike's pout.

"She was just born today?" Butcher looked a little surprised.

Mike barely paid any attention to what was being said. He puckered his lips and made kissy sounds to amuse the child.

Caitlyn squealed with laughter, liking the new game. She made kissy faces at Mike and reached out to pat his face.

"Yeah she was born today. I think it was today at least. I haven't left the apartment in awhile." Sisky nodded.

"How exactly do you turn into a woman?" Butcher asked bluntly, changing the subject since it had been on his mind.

Mike looked away from the child for an instant, suddenly interest in the conversation.

Caitlyn took advantage of Mike's distraction to poke a little finger up his nose curiously.

"Are you sure you're not permanently stuck that way? Have you tried changing back?" Butcher asked eagerly, wanting to know the answer.

Mike quickly pushed the little girl's hand away with a smile. "No, don't do that, sweetie. Not cool." He kept listening.

Caitlyn stoped giggling and smiled mischieviously at Mike. It was a sign that her mother and Matt had figured out meant that she was going to make a break for it.

Unnoticed, Matt turned and left.

Watching the sight from up the stairs, William noticed that Mike had never been that interested with his other children. Shrugging, he walked back into the room, holding all three of his children again. "Let's get out of here," he whispered with a sad smile. Unnoticed, he made his way down the stairs and out the door, ignoring the happy crowd around him. He left the house, not before muttering the words "Fucking bastard", clearly directed towards Mike. I shouldn't have stayed in the first place. He tried not to look at Mike and how happy he was before he left. Joshua started whining in his arms again once he shut the door, and as William started walking, nearly running away from the house, he kind of hoped that the baby would cause Mike pain again. He should learn not to go back on every single thing he promises.

"What?" Sisky's eyes widened. She'd been busy watching her daughter when she noticed that Caitlyn had stopped giggling.

"I don't think they're coming back," Butcher looked at the door.

"They're not...?" Sisky looked around and noticed Matt had left her. The tears of frustration and pain she'd been holding back from giving birth and meeting with William started welling up in her eyes.

Surprised by a whimpering sound her mother made, Caitlyn looked down at Sisky and reached out her little arms towards her.

"I don't think William ever intended to stay," Mike confided, a sad smile on his lips. He had tried to prepare himself to that eventuality, but it hit him harder now that the children were born. "I knew this would happen." He looked at Sisky. "Why do you think he offered me to go with you instead? He planned this. I gave him protection for a short while, now he's free. That's how it goes."

Awkward... "Uh... I'll be back." Butcher retreated to the bathroom, not wanting to be caught in the middle of what was happening at the moment. It seemed like a good idea to let Mike and Sisky work out their problems.
