When all else fails...

The child let out a quiet whine as he moved his arm too far, accidently pulling on his broken wing. It whimpered a few times until the boy snapped back into place. It held onto Mike, its green eyes looking up into his. It made a gurgling noise. William smiled again, holding his other two children. He occasionally kissed their foreheads and played with their hair in a loving manner.

As much as Mike would have loved any children William would have had, his lover giving birth to his children was more than he could have ever wished for. To him they were all as perfect as he believe William to be. "What do you think his first word will be?" He chuckled. "If we're lucky they're going to choose their own names."

William made a fake pouting face. "Hey," he whispered, chuckling quietly. He looked over at his son. The baby looked away from Mike and over to William, unable to move its head. "Is you first word going to be 'daddy'?" William asked him in a soft, playful voice. The baby's eyes went back to Mike, a confused look on its face.

"Daaa-ddy," Mike said slowly, a finger pressed on his own nose. "And the good-looking man behind you is mommy. Come on, it's easy to remember." He laughed.

The baby seemed to be thinking and trying to understand what his father had just said. It made a few whimpering noises before it tried to speak. "D-da," it said slowly, looking confused at the sound of its own voice.

Mike grinned happily, trying to stop himself from hugging the injured child close to him. "Did you hear that?" he asked, excited. "That was the best attempt to speak I've ever heard!"

William grinned, laughing quietly. The baby tried to smile again, noticing that his parents were making the same facial expression. "Da!" he said again, made a gurgling noise that was close to a giggle.

Mike laughed with him. "There's no way he's mine. I've never been cute like that!" He tickled the baby's tummy.

William laughed again, grinning. He felt proud. "Yes you are," he said quietly, laughing again as the baby squirmed, letting out a squeal cross with a gurgle. It closed its eyes and tried to smile and giggle.

Mike tried to kiss his boyfriend, shifting awkwardly to see if it was possible with the three babies between them, and finally gave up. He only blew him a kiss and chuckled.

William smiled and laughed. Using only one arm to support himself, he carefully moved towards Mike, kissing the guitarist. As he went back to his original position, he smiled. "I love you," he whispered. He looked down at his children, noticing how tired they all looked. He bit his lip in thought.

"I love you too." Mike followed Wlliam's gaze. "So far we need names, baby stuff, a Butcher comment on" - he pointed at the vampire boy - "that little guy's back, and maybe a visit to Matt."

William nodded. "After they finish sleeping, we can probably take them out." He frowned as his son shivered. He pulled him closer to his chest and kept a hand over the boy's head gently, trying to keep him warm.

"After you finish sleeping, yeah," Mike suggested. He extended his arm to touch William's cheek. "You're a beautiful mother." He brough his arm back against his chest, curling up on the mattress, and closed his eyes.

William smiled slightly before making sure that Mike had the Avian baby's wing laying comfortably. He closed his own eyes, snuggling into his daughter and son. He smiled at how soft and warm they both felt in his arms.

Mike gently played with a small curl in the Avian boy's hair until they were both asleep.

William soon fell asleep later, not before kissing both of his children's foreheads. He moved closer to Mike, making sure that everyone was warm. He loved how calm everything was as they all fell asleep.
