Nils whimpered, rubbing his head against Mikey's stomach. His father toyed with his auburn curls, a faint smile on his face.

Mikey cuddled his son carefully, kissing the top of his head. "Don't turn out like me." He whispered. "Turn out like your Papa and Uncle Nick. Please."

Ryland raised an eyebrow at how easy it was to get in as he climbed the stairs. He wondered if any of the Avians were taking the war seriously.

Mikey groaned. "Something that doesn't have wings. What the hell happened the security in this place?" He scratched Nils' head with a sigh.
