Matt sat on the river bank. He picked up a stone and skimmed it across the water, a small smile on his face. The sun shone above him.

The vampire leant back, the sun shining into his eyes. He blinked and rubbed them.

William decided to take the scenic route home, walking through the park. His hands in his pockets, he waddled along slowly, looking down at the ground. He looked off int he distance, sensing something familiar near him.

Matt kicked off his shoes, dipping his foot in the fast flowing stream. A tiny smile played around his lips.

William looked around carefully, still sensing that someone he knew was around. He smiled as he spotted Matt. He ran in the vampire's direction, slowing as he reached the boy. He watched what his son was doing with a smile.

Matt languidly splashed one of the ducks, smirking. It waddled off, quacking loudly.

William grinned, walking up to his son. He placed a hand on the boy's shoulder gently.

Matt jumped. He tilted his head back. Hey.

William smiled, looking up at Matt, and then back down at the stream. How are you doing?

Great! Matt looked back to the stream. Another duck was attacking his foot.

William grinned, happy that his son was enjoying himself. He watched the vampire interact with the ducks.

Eh! Matt waggled his foot, hitting the duck. It quacked angrily and waddled off.

William chuckled quietly, still grinning. He kneeled down to pet a different duck. He petted it gently until it tried to close its bill on his hand.

What are they? Matt asked, tilting his head. It's the second weird fluffy thing that's attacked me today, if you don't count Sisky.

William smiled, standing back up. They're ducks. Another type of bird. He looked over at Matt with another smile.

Matt nodded slowly. Why does everything like attacking me?

William chuckled again. They all like you.

William smiled. No, it's more than that. I love you. He walked over to the boy and moved a few stray strands out hair out of his face.

Matt's face, which had fallen slightly when William said no, split in the biggest smile of his life.

William couldn't help but smile as he leaned forward and hugged Matt. It's nice to see you smile.

William grinned, his arms still wrapped around the boy. Hey, do you want to walk around and spend some time together? He smiled at Matt.

Mike ran down the streets and through the park, stopping when he saw Matt at a short distance from him. He then realized who he was with.

Matt sighed as he heard Mike. He moved away, folding his arms. He realised belatedly that Sisky still had his shirt.
