Curiosty killed the cat because the cat met me

"What?" Butcher looked down, still squinting in confusion.

"I will. Take. Mikey Russell. In a room." He paused. "And. Come back. To help you."

"Mikey?" Butcher closed his arms around air and growled.

"Your Mikey is in my arms. I'll be back." Mike looked away, afraid he'd just start crying, and carried Mikey up the stairs.

Butcher stood shakily and started wandering. "Mikey?"

Mike felt bad but carried Mikey into the nearest bedroom and put him down on the bed. He was still breathing. "I'm sorry. I should have protected Butcher," he whispered. "Don't get mad when you wake up." He ran back down the stairs and looked around. "Butcher?"

Butcher was feeling the wall as if he expected a door to be where he was standing. "Mikey?"

Mike followed the man's voice and found him. "Hey. Andrew. It's Mike." He put a hand on his shoulder. "Come on, we'll go see Mikey."

Butcher jumped and swatted Mike's hand away. "Stole Mikey!" He ran off.

Mike was grateful all the doors were closed. He ran after Butcher. "Come back!" Fuck. If he's like this, he can't fix anything. "Mikey needs you, you have to come with me!"

Butcher stopped and let Mike run into him. "Take me."

Mike hit Butcher in his running. He muttered a few swear words and took his hand. "Okay. I'll take you."
