Butcher held Mikey close, ignoring the scratches the other avian had made.

Mikey kissed Butcher's chest before looking up, worry in his eyes. "They will heal, right?"

"Yeah they'll heal," Butcher smiled.

Mikey nodded slowly and moved his head back down to Butcher's chest.

Butcher leaned back against the door and held Mikey tight, kissing the top of his head.

Mikey bit his thumb silently, worried about his temper.

Butcher's heart slowly stopped racing as he took deep breaths.

Silently, Mikey reached out a hand to stroke Butcher's side soothingly.

Butcher's eyes prickled with a few tears as guilt set in. He also realized that if Mikey really wanted to hurt him he was mostly defenceless.

"Andrew?" Mikey looked up. He shifted up silently so they were cuddling properly.

Butcher blinked, hoping the tears would go away. "Yes?"

"Ssh." Mikey held him close, kissing his hair. "I love you." If it had been anyone else, they would have retaliated, he realised.

"I'm so sorry, Mikey," Butcher whispered, squeezing his eys shut.

Mikey kissed his ear soothingly. "You didn't make me do it. And what's done is done."

"Although I think if I have another seven I might actually have to kill you." Despite his words, Mikey tucked Butcher's head under his chin.

Butcher lowered his hand to splay over Mikey's stomach thoughtfully.

Mikey raised his eyebrows at his lover. "Maybe it's going to be safer if we just don't have sex."

"Okay I get it." Butcher kissed Mikey's eyebrow. "I only feel one egg forming."

Mikey breathed a sigh of relief, reaching out to rumple Butcher's curls. "Are there things we can do that won't result in me getting pregnant?"

"Yes," Butcher smiled. "Just no more doing that since we seem to be too fertile to risk it."
