Ryland chuckled and shook his head, moving to check his nose in the mirror, "Were you going somewhere?"

Aliceabella rubbed a bruise on her jaw softly. "I was trying to find my room..."

"I'll take you," Ryland turned off the bathroom light and walked towards the door.

Aliceabella traced one of the cuts on her arm absent mindedly, "I should probably get Vlad first, but I don't have anywhere for him to sleep..." She frowned, talking to herself more than Ryland.

Ryland looked sideways at her as he walked towards her room, not answering because he knew she was talking to herself.

Aliceabella moved to catch up with Ryland, deciding that she'd have to get a job and buy a crib for Vlad.

Ryland stopped when he got to her door, expecting her to run into him or walk past the room.

Aliceabella squeaked as she smacked into his back, landing onto the floor with a muffled groan.

Ryland chuckled and lifted her to her feet, picking up the book once again, "You need to be more careful." He poked her gently in the stomach.

Aliceabella blushed, "Or I could just learn to fall on my back."

Ryland chuckled again and turned more serious, "If you need anything all you have to do is ask me."

Aliceabella smiled and removed the key to her room. "Thank you, but you've done a lot for me already."

Ryland sighed. "I don't think you understand."

Aliceabella bit her lip and opened the door, "Do you want to come in?" She offered, wanting to change the subject.

Ryland nodded and followed her. "You're giving birth to my heir. That would make you my mate," he said flatly, not wanting to cause any further confusion.

Aliceabella nodded, "That doesn't mean I can't look after myself." She whispered, even though she knew she had next to no money.

Ryland paused, "It doesn't make you my mate officially but you do belong to the clan now. Your needs will be provided for."

Aliceabella nodded, putting the book down on the bed and scooping up a shirt Dane had left on the floor.

Ryland raised an eyebrow but didn't say anything, "I'll be seeing you I have to go to the clinic."

Aliceabella noticed his look, "It's my brothers." She whispered, throwing the shirt on the bed. "What happened to your nose?" She didn't want him to leave.

"Punched by a protector," Ryland turned to leave and paused. "You have a brother?"

Aliceabella nodded. "He ran away when I was eight, but he's been a comedian here for a few years I think."

"Oh," Ryland shrugged and turned to leave again. "Interesting."

Aliceabella bit her lip, "Wait." She whispered, "There is one thing that I really need, well not life or death but I do really need it..."

"What is it?" Ryland paused.
