Human Arrival

"Are you alright Cyzie?" Demyx asked, noticing her wince. Slowly he sat down on the bed and gently pulled her into his lap, holding her close. "Are you alright?" He repeated.

Cyzarine nodded shakily. "Just memories." she replied quietly. "I hate remembering." she added, speaking to herself more than anything else.

"Have you...Well, have you ever spoken to anyone about it? I know remembering hurts, but not telling anyone can be just as bad." He kissed her on the forehead gently. "If you ever want to tell me Cyzie, I'll be here."

Cyzarine smiled weakly. "I...I told Hatty most of what happened, but..." she trailed off, fidgiting a little in his lap.

"But?" Demyx asked, tightening his grip on her slightly.

Cyzarine took a deep breath. "But I'm afraid, Demyx!" she cried, tears welling up in her eyes again. "If...If I say it out loud, it becomes real! It stops being a nightmare, a figment of my imagination or some...story! It becomes real and then I have to face it again." she sighed. "I tried blocking the memories from my mind but..." she sighed again, "all I could do was was seal it away."

Demyx rocked her gently, as you would a small child. "It's ok Cyzarine, dont you remember what I told you earlier? I promised that I wouldnt let that...thing, hurt you ever again!"

Cyzarine let him rock her, her expression forlorn as the last tears dipped from her eeys dully. "He's not the thing, I am." she murmured blankly her voice quiet.

Demyx pulled back a little and gave her a serious look. "Dont you dare say that! You are NOT a thing! Your wonderful and sweet and kind and caring and..Your wonderful." He kissed her gently. "But your NOT a thing. Make myself clear?"

Cyzarine blinked in surprise before smiling slightly and nodding. "I'm sorry," she murmured, hanging her head. "Memories bring back habbits of survival." she added, trying to make a joke of it and failing.

"You don't need to be sorry Cyzie." He kissed her on the forehead again. "I just want you to understand that your not a thing, your the nicest person I've ever met. And I mean that."

Cyzarine gazed at him in surprise, a small blush adorning her cheeks. "R-Really?" she whispered.

"Really." He told her, honesty written plainly on his face.

Cyzarine smiled at him and kissed him gently. "Thank you..." she whispered as she drew back.

He grinned a little. "What did I say about thanking me?"

Cyzarine giggled. "But you're the first person to say that to me." she replied, moving a little closer and snuggling against him. She hummed happily at the warmth, goosebumps rising on her arms.

"Well it's the truth, you dont need to thank me for that." He smiled a little then looked down a little, her words flashing in his mind "Your the first person to say that to me" He shuddered a little, as a memory flashed into his mind.

Cyzarine peered at him in concern again, worry filling in her eyes. "Is everything okay?" she asked him.

"I..." He sighed. "It is now...But it wasn't...Not when she was there..." Demyx shuddered again.

"Demyx? Do you want to tell me?" she asked quietly, her tone soothing and gentle. She knew exactly how it felt to have painful memories with one person as the sole cause for them. "You don't have to." she added calmly, silently vowing to stay calm for him.

"Well...I told you that my family were killed...After that I got put into a foster home, and there was this one girl her name was Rose...She was my only friend but...This other girl...Jasmine, she, she...." He let tears slip from her eyes. "She killed her. I started screaming and yelled that Rose had been my only friend...And Jasmine she...she..." He whispered the next sentance. "Raped me."

Cyzarine's eyes widened, and had to remind herself immediately of her vow. She kissed Demyx gently and hesitantly, not wanting to make the memory worse. She muttered a small curse under her breath, aimed at this 'Jasmine' and said with a calm tone, still. She stroked Demyx's cheek comfortingly. "I know how you feel."
The words surprised Cyzarine at first, before she realised it was her who had spoken. A sad smile joined final acknowledgement of a particularly terrifying incident, before she spoke again.
"Garland did the same to me - well, he tried to." she amended hastily. "But then he swore he'd do worse and it felt almost as bad."

Demyx hugged Cyzarine gently. "If I ever meet this Garland face to face, I swear I'l kill him." He muttered.
Then his mood softened and he hugged Cyzarine closer. "It doesnt matter now...We've got each other and they cant get us. Well...Jasmine can't."

Cyzarine smiled. "She just made you stronger." she whispered, kissing him softly, not wanting to startle him at all. She knew reliving memories like that was painful.

He nodded a little. "Well she did make me respect women a lot more when it came to...doing the dirty, because I didnt want to force them or make them do anything they didnt want to because I knew how it felt to be forced." Demyx smiled at Cyzarine. "So I suppose she sort of did."
