Mikey nodded. "I could tell. I can hear him breathe. Faintly."

Even though he was in an uncomfortable position, Tom was getting the best sleep he'd had since arriving in Chicago.

Butcher nodded, knowing his lover's hearing was better than his own.

"Which is reassuring. Maybe he won't die in his sleep." Mikey frowned and toyed with Nils' hair again.

Tom's eyes were outlined with black, but he was slowly recovering.

"Hopefully he won't be eaten either," Butcher said quietly.

Mikey gave a sad smile. "Welcome to Chicago."

The guitarist's eyes fluttered open and he pressed a hand to his pulse.

"Good morning, Sunshine," Butcher called to Tom.

"Balloon man didn't eat you whilst you sleep." Mikey said calmly, noticing Tom's hand.

Tom raised his head and stared blearily at them, his hair sticking up on end.

Butcher chuckled, "This part was always pretty funny."

Mikey chuckled in agreement.

Tom held up his middle finger to them, rubbing the sleep out his eyes.

Butcher reached out to ruffle Tom's hair.

"There's a child here Tom." Mikey reminded his friend.

"Eff you." Tom muttered, glaring at them sleepily.

"Luff you too," Butcher smiled at Tom.

Mikey chuckled at the potent glare Tom gave him.

Tom ran a hand through his hair, trying to neaten it up.

"You're cute when you're sleepy," Butcher teased, winking at Tom.

Mikey's brow furrowed and he frowned sulkily.

"Dude, I go for chicks." Tom mumbled, shaking his head rapidly.

"Mikey's the only one for me anyways," Butcher kissed his lover's cheek.

"Good." Mikey mumbled moodily, still pouting.
