William bit his lip, nodding solemnly. "Everytime we finally put all the pieces back together something else happens," he whispered, looking down at the ground. "I-I can't lose you," he said even more quietly.

Mike quickly stepped back when he saw Nick. "Don't scream, I've got a baby," he quickly said, holding Nils close to himself. "I swear it wasn't my fault."

Nick raised an eyebrow. "I know whose fault it was." He said calmly. "And it wasn't yours, and I've already spoken to him."

William kept silent and motionless, remembering everything they had been through as of lately. He stopped himself from crying.

Mike sighed, relieved. "I told her I'd be back. What am I supposed to do now?"

Nick shrugged silently. "I'm taking Mikey out." He said calmly. "He's not staying here anymore."

William remained silent, listening in ont he conversation. His expression was blank.

Nick tilted his head to look at Butcher. "Is he...?"

"Alive?" Butcher finished the question with what he thought might be the ending. His voice was emotionless and his face blank.

William still stood motionless as he rubbed Butcher's back slightly.

"I was thinking more of ok, myself." Nick admitted, taking Butcher's wrist. "Anything I can do to help?"

"Broken," Butcher attempted to point to his head with the hand Nick had taken by the wrist and frowned before using his free one.

William quietly moved back against a wall, hoping that no one woudl notice. His face was blank; his skin pale.

Nick gently helped Butcher into a chair and knelt on his lap. "Sorry, this is rather friendly..." He placed his hands at Butcher's temples and closed his eyes.

Butcher closed his eyes and let his arms go limp because he didn't know what to do with them.

William watched as all three men in the room ignored him. Good. He continued sliding down the length of the wall before existing the room in silence.

"Oh my..." Nick murmured, flinching slightly. He hadn't expected Butcher's mind to be in such bad shape. He set to work on his eyesight first, opening his eyes to check they still had pupils.

Butcher clenched and unclenched his hands as Nick worked on his brain. He had to concentrate on letting someone else fix him so he wouldn't fight the shade off.

William continued walking out of the room, making sure that no one noticed. he stood in the entry hall, his expression still blank.

"Eyes done." Nick whispered to himself. "Andrew, calm down." He stroked his ghostly fingers over the other avian's temples. "I'm not a healer, I'm a fixer. Let me fix you."

Butcher sighed and wiggled his fingers. "Arms attached?"

William walked over to the stairs and sat down, his head in his hands. He felt liek crying but couldn't; his eyes had run dry. Anger and sorrow filled his mind, yet his face remained blank.

"Open your eyes and see for yourself." Nick frowned, entering deeper into Butcher's mind to fix the connections the avian had failed to.
