"Hey," Mike whispered, moving some of Matt's hair back to see his face. "You need to learn to smile."

William smiled at Matt and Mike, but remained silent, wanting to see what they'd both do.

"Do you think he'll come back?" Butcher looked up, eyes vulnerable.

"You want my personal opinion?" Nick perched on the arm of the chair. "He was annoyed that you didn't talk to him, and knows that you'll worry about him if he goes. He used to do it to me sometimes. It not just a coincidence that "Mikey" and "moody" start with the same letter."

Matt moved away slowly, not wanting Mike's hands to touch his face. He pushed a thick lock of hair behind his ear. I can't.

Mike's hand dropped to his side, but he didn't seem mad nor disappointed. He had expected it. "It's okay, you'll learn. It'll come naturally one day."

William smiled faintly at the two men. His thumb rubbed over his stomach quietly.

Butcher sighed, "It worked." He couldn't help but worry.

"When he was with me he threatened to commit suicide once." Nick said quietly. "Grabbed his pin feathers. Because of his... unconventional childhood, he wants attention."

Matt nodded slowly, giving them a shy look.

"Don't be shy like that," Mike said, now grinning as he resisted the urge to ruffle Matt's hair.

Butcher started to worry more if that was possible. He sighed. Please just come back, Mikey.

Nick rubbed his eyes. "He's got Nils, he's not going to do anything stupid." He said quietly.

Something similar to a grin flashed briefly across Matt's face. He tilted his head to watch his father.

Mike, who had been watching Matt, felt like a father who had just seen his child almost say an existing word - except that he wasn't a father just yet, and Matt was already 21. He was proud for some reason, but didn't say anything.

Butcher let himself relax a little. "But anything could happen out there."

"Contrary to what we both want to believe, Mikey can take care of himself." The avian rumpled Angel's curls gently.

Tentatively, tongue poking out the side of his mouth, Matt reached out and poked William's stomach.

Mike chuckled at the sight. "They'll call you 'big brother'," he informed Matt with a grin. "And they'll probably want to play with you."

William grinned and laughed. "What was that for?" he asked, laughing at the fact that he had never seen Matt try something like that before. It's a start!

Butcher nodded. "I know he can." He leaned put his elbow on the arm of his chair and rested his chin in his hand, still tired.

Nick leant back against the chair, happy to share the guilt and worry that Mikey gave people.

Matt scratched the back of his head, pressing his lips together.

"Matt doesn't know where babies come from," Mike hinted to William, chuckling.

William grinned nad chuckled quietly. He reached a hand out to Matt's face and moved some more of the vampire's hair out from in front of his face, moving quickly enough that Matt couldn't fight back. He brought his hadn back to his stomach. "Well when a mommy and a daddy...or in our case, a daddy and a daddy...wait...," he trailed off with a confused look on his face. He's going to be confused for life.
