Sisky bit her lip, wondering if Matt was upset because he didn't think she'd want to be with him that way. She shifted to run her fingers through his hair and tuck it behind his ears, giving him a kiss on the cheek.

Are you scared? Sisky cupped Matt's cheek in her hand and stroked it with her thumb.

You shouldn't be. I love the way you look and I love being with you. Sisky smiled softly.

What's wrong? Sisky frowned slightly.

If there's anything I can do for you all you have to do is ask. Sisky tried smiling brightly.

Sisky dropped it and leaned agasint Matt.

In the kitchen, Caitlyn pushed a plastic bowl off the counter and the noise scared her so she ran back to her parents and settled in Matt's lap, a quivering ball of fur.

Caitlyn nuzzled into Matt's hand and slowly stopped trembling.

Maybe she tired herself out and she'll sleep tonight. Sisky watched as the kitten Caitlyn meowed happily.

It was worth a try. Sisky huffed.

Caitlyn hopped off Matt's lap and scampered over to the sofa. She swatted a paw underneath it then turned into a little girl to try to reach for whatever it was she wanted.

There was a chip under the sofa that Caitlyn was going to eat even though it had lint and dirt on it.

"You just ate, Caitlyn," Sisky chuckled and reached down to fish the stale snack food out and throw it away.

Caitlyn sulked as she watched. "Kaywin no wuv."

I probably don't. Sisky shifted to hide her embarrassment.

Caitlyn wiggled, wanting to be put down.

Sounds like a good idea. Sisky picked a crumb out of Caitlyn's hair.
