William frowned, pulling down the blanket to expose more of the child's back. "I'm not sure," he said quietly.

"Hmmm what does that do?" Butcher wasn't sure if he should touch it or not.

"It just makes him cry, and it burns when it's touched," William said, trying to calm his son. The baby sobbed into William's chest, in obvious pain.

"I don't know what it is maybe Mikey will," Buther smiled at him.

William nodded, having no choice but to try and place his hand on the child's small back. He hissed in pain, his hand burning because of the heat emanating from his baby. The baby sobbed louder, screaming into William's ear.

"I hope it's not a disease or something," Butcher frowned when he realized how much pain the baby vampire was in.

William looked worried as he looked over at Butcher. "I-I think it's more the left over Avian genes," he said quietly, letting his hand burn against the child's back.

"I wonder why it hurts," Butcher shrugged. "I'll follow you."

William slowly began walking again, frowning as he did so. Little did he know, Joshua wasn't going to calm down until he was with who he wanted - his father. Unable to control his defective power, the tiny baby accidently transfered his pain over to his father, trying to tell the guitarist that he needed him.

"He's not a happy camper," Butcher held Nils close, his son wouldn't become grumpy.

William made a pouting face, trying not to cry himself. "My poor little baby," he whispered, keeping his lips to the boy's forehead. Joshua only sent more pain to his father, only wanting to be held by the guitarist.

"What do you think he wants? I'm sure buying clothes can wait," Butcher kissed Nils' forehead.

William looked down at his child in fear. "I-I don't know," he said quietly, offering the baby a finger to see if it was hungry. The baby only screamed louder, transfering an extrordinary amount of pain over to his father, unable to keep from doing so.

"Um... Not food. He doesn't have to be changed right?" Butcher tried to think of more reasons the baby might cry.

"We don't even have diapers for them yet," William whispered, staring down at his son with eyes full of sorrow. The tiny child pressed even more pain onto Mike, unable to stop it as it grew by the seconds.

Astoundingly, the small boy's voice grew even louder as it screamed. It left a costant flow of increasing pain to Mike, its back burning more than ever.

"Has he screamed like this before? What did you do?" Butcher's eyes widened and Nils looked unamused.

William was nearly panicking. "I-It hasn't been this bad before. Do you think I should try bringing him to Mike?" he asked, the tiny boy's chest heaving from the effort of transfering pain, sobbing, and screaming.

"Yeah maybe Mike will know what to do," Butcher nodded.

William tried to keep from crying, not wanting to cause his child anymore pain. He quickly began walking towards Mandible House, the closer they moved, the more pain being given to Mike.

Butcher followed William at a jog, keeping an eye out for anything that could prevent them from going on.

William hurried as he walked, noticing that his child's screams had become even louder. "Mike," he whispered, getting closer. The baby only pressed more and more pain onto Mike, wanting its father desperatly.

Ryland strolled through the alley, hands in his pockets. He came across the Butcher's victims and nudged them with a foot.

"Avian," Ryland decided after viewing the corpses. "And a new one possibly." He puzzled over an empty bottle that Butcher forgot.
