First things first

Butcher landed clumsily in an alley, clutching the bottles he'd grabbed on his way out Mandible House. He shivered as he looked around, trying not to let his fear overcome him.

You're not here to be killed or raped today, Andy. Mikey needs blood. Butcher shivered and started moving, looking for a target.

Perfect. Butcher snuck up behind what he thought was a single girl lost on her own and slit her throat before pulling her into the shadows to feed on her blood. Any remorse he had was overshadowed by relief that nothing bad had happened to him so far.

Butcher let the woman's lifeless body fall after he'd drained her, feeling much better than before. His ankle made a cracking sound as it fixed itself, and he touched his lip to find no cut there. "Good."

"Cyndi?," A male voice called and Butcher froze.

Butcher looked up as a man entered the alley and quickly realized what he had just done. God he's huge. Butcher stared at the man blankly as he screamed and flung himself at the avian.

Butcher's eyes widened when he heard William's voice and took advantage of the distraction his friend created to attack the stranger with renewed strenght. He didn't want to put Nils or the other children in danger.

Butcher heaved a sigh of relief and bent to start draining his victim's blood to take home for Mikey. "Hi Bill. I was looking for you." He wiped some blood from his own mouth. "Well I needed to feed first but after that."

"You got away from Papa while he was busy," Butcher smiled and thanked William before taking the baby. He tilted his head to the side. "His wing looks wrong. What did you name them?"

"That's why it looks wrong," Butcher nodded and shifted Nils to balance on his hip so he could have a hand free. "I can fix that."

"Yeah I just fed it'll be fine," Butcher reached out for Christopher's little wing. "And I wouldn't want this little guy to be in pain any longer."

"It will be all better soon," Butcher took Christopher's wing between two fingers, sliding them down until he found the break. It didn't take long to mend since the bones were so small. "Good as new, kid."

"Awww," Butcher petted the boy's head. "He's a cutie. They all are."

Butcher paused. "Are they cold? Why don't you come back to Mandible House? Mike is still there and all the eggs are delivered now."

"I'll go with you," Butcher shifted Nils in his arms.

"What's that?" Butcher looked at the baby's back curiously as he clutched Nils and the bottle of blood for Mikey. He pulled his wings in.
