"Mmm," Butcher made a happy noise and closed his eyes, rubbing Mikey's arm slightly.

Nils sniffled to himself, reaching out a hand to grab Mikey's wings.

Butcher wanted to reach down to comfort the child but his curiosity about what Mikey would do overruled the desire.

"Atch." Mikey gently moved his wings out the way. He tapped his son on the nose. "You've got your own." He looked over at his lover. "Speaking of wings, you think you can fix mine?"

"Sure," Butcher blushed, embarrassed that he hadn't noticed there was anything wrong with them. It was the letters on Mikey's chest that drew his attention away.

"Thanks." Mikey leant forward slightly, his broken wing highly visible. "I probably didn't help when I shoved it back in, but being able to fly was the last thing on my mind then."

Butcher leaned back a little to take Mikey's wing into his hands. "Ouch."

Mikey relaxed even more as his lover's hands brushed against his broken wing.

"It's pretty bad. This will probably hurt," Butcher had to apply a little force to help the bones pop back into place and knit themselves back together.

Mikey groaned in pain, making his son whimper worriedly at the strange noise.

"Just a little more," Butcher frowned. There was no way he could be more gentle without having the pain last longer.

Butcher gently ran his hands over Mikey's wings to make sure they where whole when he thought he was done.

Mikey slipped off Butcher's lap to test his wings out without hitting the older man in the face.

"Seems alright." Mikey gently floated to the ceiling. "We could always do a proper test, now it's dark?"

Mikey brushed his hair out his eyes irritatedly, still hovering a foot off the ground. "Shoes!" He suddenly said.
