Butcher sighed again, looking apologetic as he untangled himself from Mikey in order to go to the baby.

Butcher took the baby into his arms gently and frowned. I still don't have anything you might want.

Butcher looked over at Mikey and thought a little before getting up with the baby and crossing over to Mikey's bed.

Mikey shifted over to let Butcher sit down. He looked at the baby in his arms, mouth parted uncertainly. The little boy wailed again. "He looks hungry." The auburn haired avian whispered.

"What do baby Avians eat?" Butcher asked, looking up at Mikey.

Mikey flushed slightly. "C'mere." He plucked his son from Butcher's arms, holding him close for the first time. "I don't know if this will work..." he undid his shirt, pressing the baby to his chest.

"Ok," Butcher stared, wondering what was going on. He was pretty sure that Mikey wasn't breastfeeding the baby.

Suddenly, the baby sank its fangs into Mikey, sucking hungrily. "I don't know how many nutrients I have in my blood, cause I was only pregnant for a bit." He stroked his son's hair.

"Ah," Butcher stared. He'd never seen anything quite like it before.

Mikey gave him a smile, reminiscent of the old Mikey. "What don't you understand now?" He asked as the baby finished feeding.

"I think I understand," Butcher wondered how the baby knew who to feed from.

Mikey rolled his eyes. "That better?" He asked, gently poking his son's nose. The little boy gurgled happily.

"Nils," Butcher repeated a little quieter afraid to ask how Mikey felt about the newly named baby now.
