Don't say it's going to be ok, because it won't be.

Mikey squeezed onto the bed next to Butcher. He wasn't a demonstrative person.

Butcher watched Mikey, a smile on his face and the fear of his nightmare forgotten.

"What were you dreaming about?" Mikey asked, sheathing his wings.

"The alley," Butcher's smile faded. "But then it was Ryland. You and William were right." He was killing you.

"I'm always right." Mikey replied, leaning his head on his knees. This is awkward...

So what now? "I'll keep that in mind in the future." Butcher sighed inwardly. Great. So we love each other. Now we don't know what to do.

Mikey nodded, slipping off the bed again. "Goodnight." He said in a strange voice, curling up on his own bed.

"Mikey? Do you need anything?" Butcher watched him go without moving.

"No, I'm fine thanks." Mikey stifled a yawn.

"Ok," Butcher nodded. "Goodnight then." He laid down and got comfortable.

"Night." The auburn haired man repeated obediently. He closed his eyes and waited for sleep to hit him.

Butcher watched Mikey as long as he could keep his eyes open.

Mikey surrendered himself to the darkness that awaited.

Butcher watched, smiling sleepily. His eyes blinked closed without him realizing it.

In his sleep, the younger Avian twisted slightly, before giving out a sigh of contentment.

Butcher's breathing evened out to a sleeping pattern.
