Mikey woke up quietly, padding down the hall to the showers. He stepped in fullyclothed, watching the red liquid pool around him.

Butcher stirred sleepily and opened his eyes. He'd decided to spend the night in the corner of the room since he lacked the energy or willpower to go back to Mikey.

Mikey jumped and turned off the shower. "I didn't see you there." He sat down on the floor, wringing the water out his hair.

"It's fine," Butcher said in a daze. "I was going to take one when I woke up anyways. I didn't think I'd actually fall asleep." He smiled sheepishly.

Mikey looked at him anxiously. "You ok? Why did you spend the night here? I can safely say our shower rooms generally aren't the best place to sleep in."

"It wasn't so bad. I've slept weirder places," Butcher shrugged, searching Mikey's face for some kind of sign.

"Me too." Mikey agreed, looking down to stare at the red coloured water. "You know, this probably isn't good for my clothes."

"I can't heal fabric," Butcher chuckled and hugged his knees.

Mikey tugged off his maroon shirt and wrung it out, before stepping out of his trousers and doing the same to them. "Can you pass me a towel?"

Butcher nodded and moved to grab a towel before handing it to Mikey. His eyes lingered for a moment before he blushed and looked away.

Mikey wrapped it around his muscled waist. "Oh Jeez..." He muttered as his wet hair stuck to his back. "Great."

Butcher grabbed another towel without thinking and moved behind Mikey to start drying his hair. "I hope you don't usually blowdry," he said nervously once he realized what he was doing. Go back to your corner.

"I just... leave it." Mikey shrugged. "Cause I'm lazy and all."

"Oh," Butcher dried the rest of the excess water out of Mikey's hair and pulled away gently with the towel still in his hands. "That's not healthy."

Mikey gave Butcher a peculiar, mournful look. "It won't kill me."

Butcher folded the towel up and cuddled it like a stuffed animal even though it was wet and so was he. "You still need to take care of yourself." I could take care of you.

"You sound like Mhera." Mikey sighed, staring at the floor. He picked up his wet clothes.

"I'm sorry about the other day. I shouldn't have told you how I feel." Butcher backed up to his corner. "I'm sorry." This isn't you. You don't hide in corners. Cheer up, Andrew.

"Nothing. It's not you, it's me," Butcher sighed and his eyes darkened. "Sounds like a shitty breakup line."

Mikey shrugged, not understanding. Silently, he padded out the bathroom.

"Mikey, I still love you," Butcher said to himself, not expecting anyone else to hear. You have to follow him. Go! Now! Butcher stood hesitating.

Mikey shivered, his sharp ears catching Butcher's words. He made no sign he'd heard and walked into the bedroom.

Butcher got as far as the doorway and decided he should go all the way and follow Mikey. Each step seemed a little harder. Okay let's go over our options... uh my options. 1. I sleep in the showers and avoid Mikey. 2. I go back to our room and suffer because he knows how I feel and he can't feel the same. 3. I go stay with Happy Couple William and Mike and sleep on their couch. 4. I give myself to Ryland to do whatever he wants as a peace offering. Number four is looking good right now...

Mikey pulled on some new clothes and sat on his bed. "Nick's dead." He whispered, like the shade had told him to. "Nick - is - dead."
