Mikey gently touched down and waited for Butcher.

Butcher was coming in too fast since he'd been trying to catch up the whole way. Oh shit. This one is going to hurt.

Mikey saw what was going to happen in a second and moved to intercept Butcher's landing, wincing as the older man barrelled into him.

Butcher grunted as he crashed into Mikey and knocked the smaller man to the ground. "I'm sorry," he didn't roll off of him right way because he was shocked.

"It's fine." Mikey gently moved into a sitting position, his arms wrapped around Butcher's skinny frame. "Are you ok?"

"I think so," Butcher said slowly, wide-eyed. "Are you?"

"I've had worse." Mikey assured him, hugging him a little bit tighter before he let go.

Butcher pulled himself together and moved off of Mikey, holding his hand out to help the other man up as well.

"We keep putting off the flying lessons." Mikey frowned. "You need to learn to land, before you do some serious damage to yourself."

"Or someone else," Butcher stretched his muscles tenatively to test them. "I'm sorry. You didn't have to catch me like that."

Mikey just looked at him, before quietly pushing the door open.

Butcher followed, reaching out to touch Mikey's back lightly and hoping the other man wouldn't notice what he was trying to do.

Mikey's brow furrowed as he felt the featherlight touch, but he made no sign that he had noticed.

Butcher almost forgot himself, stifling a sigh of relief when he felt that Mikey was okay. He wanted to heal the forming bruises he caused since it was only right, but he would need more contact for that.

Mikey turned towards the kitchen, shuffling along quietly.

"Uh.. Mikey?" Butcher stepped a little faster so he could walk beside the other man.

"Mmm?" Mikey looked at him, a serene look on his face.

Butcher smiled nervously, "Something on your mind?" He didn't really expect a real answer, maybe a yes or no.

Mikey shrugged and kept walking.

Butcher relaxed and kept going, not really wanting to push the subject. He didn't want to upset Mikey again so he was going to be careful.

Mikey felt a strange sensation come over him. He shivered and changed his mind, running full pelt in the opposite direction.

Butcher stood, turning to watch Mikey run in disbelief.

Mikey veered sharply to the left and entered the study, crashing into the desk.

Butcher decided he wanted to follow Mikey and at least check to see if he was okay before getting something to eat. Food could wait. He walked briskly towards the study, almost jogging but not quite running.

Mikey grabbed the file that he'd never put away, flicking through it. Pages fell to the ground. Each one had a finger print and the red scrawl of ELIMINATED across it.
