Stubborn like his father

Butcher wiped the phone off on his shirt then wiped Nils' face carefully. "Hi Sisky what did you want?" He smiled at Mikey sadly since it was pretty obvious that Nils was ignoring him.

"What?" Butcher frowned at the phone and looked down at Nils. "Whatcha doing, little man?"

Butcher smiled and petted Nils hair with his free hand. "Um congratulations?"

"What am I supposed to do?" Butcher wondered if Sisky was pregnant again too.

Reve blinked at Mikey sleepily and giggled at still being awake.

"Okay I agree with you then." Butcher chuckled and held Nils close.

Reve reached for Mikey's face with both her arms.

"Have you tested for it?" Butcher chuckled.

Reve patted Mikey's cheeks and squealed, "Goo!"

"You probably should," Butcher adjusted his grip on Nils and stood up.

"Wuuu?" Reve grinned happily.

"I'm okay," Butcher started walking towards the door. He didn't really understand why she was asking because things weren't that bad. "Take care of Matt."

Reve made a confused sound. "Mada."

"Thanks," Butcher hung up and stuffed his phone back in his pocket. He turned to climb back up the stairs.

Reve tried to copy the hissing sound with a giggle.

Butcher bounced Nils slightly as he walked up the stairs.

Reve giggled at the sound of Mikey's laugh and tried to pull a face at him.

Chase opened his eyes and found himself all alone with a start. He sniffled then burst into tears. Adelaide stirred and turned over to move towards him.

Reve smiled at Mikey. "Mada!"

Butcher heard the cries and quickened his pace. If the children were all starting to wake up then Mikey would need help.

Adelaide patted Chase's arm and clucked soothingly but Chase just cried louder as the door swung open suddenly.

"Uk" Reve blinked at her daddy.

"No," Butcher shifted Nils. "I thought you could use the help if they're waking up."

Reve didn't copy the sound this time but watched what was happening.

Adelaide looked panicked since she couldn't cheer her little brother up.
