It won't be alright, despite what they say

Sisky's face paled and she retreated back to Matt.

Matt frowned, holding her close. If there's any throat ripping out to do it will be me, thank you very much.

Tom frowned. He tentatively took Mikey's cold hand, squeezing it. "Come on Mikey." He whispered. "You've still got two years of taking the piss out of me to make up for."

"William...?" Michael shivered.

"Fuck you, Carden," Butcher protectively hugged Mikey closer.

Mikey's head hit Butcher's chest, caught in the middle of the argument. Nils wailed. "Daddypeeze!"

William turned to face Michael. He looked at the guitarist with the same dazed expression, his eyes still solemn.

"Someone tell the driver we won't leave," Mike called out from up the stairs. He wished William could have been with him instead of outside at that moment. His eyes watered. "I didn't want this to happen either." He took a deep breath. "But you can't just wait for nothing..."

Sisky buried her face back into Matt's chest. I tried.

"Do you want to go in?" Michael asked nervously.

"Mikey will be fine," Butcher glared at Mike.

Mike shook his head sadly. "Mikey's dead. Ryland killed him." He started crying.

"No, he's not," Butcher whispered, closing his eyes and shifting to rest his forehead against Mikey's.

"Andrew, please. He's not going to wake up. You know it." He sobbed loudly, more because of his friend than because of the Avian's death.

"No," Butcher growled at Mike, gently carressing Mikey's cheek with a finger.

Mike suddenly grasped the man's upper arm. "What is it gonna take? What more proof do you need? What..." He couldn't finished his sentence, choking and sobbing. "You have Nils to take care of. And you could save the other babies. Think about it..."

I don't like Butcher like that. Sisky cried silently at the change in the drummer.

Matt rubbed her back. I think he's scared. I think he knows Mikey's dead.

"JUST SHUT UP!" Tom screamed, sobbing. "Don't you see? Mikey wouldn't want it to be like this..."

"Mikey, please show them," Butcher whispered, leaning down to press his lips against his lover's cold ones.

Mikey was unresponsive. Suddenly, his body jerked and he started coughing. He pushed Butcher away and turned his head. He vomited, some of it hitting Mike's knees.

Mike was too shocked to move away. His body trembled, and he grasped the first thing in reach - which happened to be Sisky's hand. He cried some more, but this time out of relief.

William watched as the driver in the van left. He looked back towards the sky again. His dark eyes caught the fact that the snow had started to accumulate and fall in a greater amount. He smiled very faintly, hoping that it meant what he was thinking.

Sisky looked down when she felt a hand suddenly in hers and followed it up to its owner in surprise.

Matt narrowed. He wrenched Sisky's hand out of Mike's, wrapping his arms protectively around the girl.
