Sisky ran to the door and opened it. "Matt?" She knelt next to him. "What happened?"

"What's wrong?" Sisky wrapped her arms around Matt and Caitlyn wriggled under his shirt.

"It's okay now," Sisky ran her fingers through his hair. Caitlyn tried to find her way out so she could see her Dadee too.

Matt fumbled in his shirt to let Caitlyn out, still attached to Sisky. He shuddered.

"Aww she learned a new-" Sisky looked down at their daughter and was shocked into silence.

Matt wiped his eyes, shivering. Fresh tears spilled down his cheeks.

Sisky tightend her arms around Matt when she saw the scratch marks and forming bruises on Caitlyn's arms.

"Dadee?" Caitlyn smiled up at them.

Matt's sleeve rolled up slightly, revealing the fresh needle marks from the treatment.

"Where were you?" Sisky asked in a hushed voice, looking Matt over. She knew what the answer probably was and her limbs went a little numb.

Caitlyn whimpered quietly.

Matt closed his eyes, tears still pouring down his cheeks. I almost didn't.

Matt nodded slowly, watching Caitlyn. His fingers glided down to entwine with Sisky's.

Sisky leaned in to kiss his cheek before turning her eyes to look at Caitlyn as well.

The baby curled up and whimpered slightly, excitement about seeing Matt and Sisky together with her again gone.
